Hi everyone! ANother Feb bandster here...so far have lost 47.5 lbs and currently have 2.2 cc in a 10 cc band. I had to get unfilled at 3.0 ccs...couldn't get anything down, and I think 2.2 is my sweet spot!

Glad to see people doing so well! We should give ourselves collective pats on the back!

Hi Everyone~

I haven't been on in awhile and wanted to check in on everyone.

I feel like I'm doing pretty well and was toying with the idea of a second fill until I PB'd a portabella mushroom last night. I think I have restriction but sometimes try to eat around if you KWIM.

Anyway, I am 10 pounds lighter than I have been in 7 years and just 10 pounds away from when I got married. It's amazing to me that this is working at all!!

Take care friends and I'll try to pop in more often.

I haven't been here in a while. It's good to see others with multiple fills. I have just had my 4th and am still not fully restricted. If I take too big a bite or eat to fast I pb. Otherwise, I can eat almost all I want. Anyone else in the same boat?

yeah Srae I am that same boat. I have had 3 fills, I got a little more restriction with this last fill. But I can pretty much eat what I want, as long as I chew. As a matter of fact I just had my first PB today, I was eating a piece of toast, and it got stuck. I have had the lapband for over 6 months.

Hello !!! Here is my update......as a February Bandster !!!

Starting weight 244....now 177. High blood pressure is gone, diabetes is gone. Ya Hoo !!! I am very much at a standstill at this point on weight loss. I have been plataued at 177 for about one month. I have had 2 fills and am going back for a third in a couple of weeks. I am hoping that helps....I do want to lose more weight.

I go to the gym or park at least 4 days a week to exercise. It is hard with work to get in the exercise time but it is so important !!!

I just did a free week at Curves to try it out....I am not sure it is enough ??? I think I need to do more weights with a little more intensity to really make progress.....I dont know. I am going to meet with a personal trainer at my Gym then decide.

Best wishes to all.

Kathy

WOW !!!! You have done very well ! I am so happy for you.

I had surgery Feb 10th and have lost 70 # and am very happy about it.

My next goal is a Tummy Tuck this winter. I want to lose another 20 # before the tummy tuck.

244/174/150 Keep up the good work ! I dont need boobs, I have them. But I will need a breast lift after the tummy tuck is done.

But a good bra works for now !!!!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
