Hey

I understand it is very confusing. I am starting week 4 and I just started mushie foods yesterday and it is more challenging getting the Protein in with the food. I got unflavored Protein Powder and added it to my Soups and drinks. Hope this helps.

I am 5 days post-op and my Dr instructed I do 1 cup at a time (8 oz),,so I start the day with a 25g Protein Shake, that knocks a good bit out for the day. It is the GNC brand,,then I do the rest in more 8 oz servings through out the day. I am to drink them slowly, takes me about 25 minutes to get 8 ounces down..hope this helps..

You're only 4 days out. The most important thing at this point is that you get enough Water to not become dehydrated. Just do Protein Shakes and broth as tolerated.

Welcome to the Banded World! I had my surgery (although I have the Realize band) on April 6. I've lost 38 lbs since then! I guess my band wasn't too tight, because I continually drank for the first 10 days, never really feeling full. My doctor says you aren't supposed to feel full - just satisfied. I tried the Muscle Milk light, but I don't like it. Have you tried Premier from costco? The case has 18 containers, each having 11 oz, 30 g Protein, and 160 calories. It is very tasty and extremely filling. The only flavor my costco has is chocolate, but it also comes in vanilla and strawberry. Costco has it for $10 cheaper than Amazon or the Premier site, so I will continue to drink the chocolate. I'd love to eat the way I did before, but I would not trade it for the way I feel now! I'd like to loose another 40 lbs. Best of luck with your journey.

Congratulations on being banded. I was banded the same day you were. I am having lots of trouble getting in the Protein Shakes. No matter what I do, they taste horrible and take me forever to get down. I just keep myself hydrated and hope that this works because I am having a real struggle with the shakes. I have never actually felt hungry, I don't think, but I don't know....lol. Good Luck and keep us posted!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
