Success with lap band to gastric bypass?

Hey...I am scheduled to have my band removed and converted to the gastric bypass next monday. I am wondering if there are others out there who can tell me their experience? I have heard it's harder to lose weight if you've had the band before the bypass. Is this true for some out there?
