Day 3 of Pre-Op... SIGH

Recommended Posts

This is day three of the pre-op diet for me and I am struggling. I want to chew and spit out food or something just so I can chew! My pre-op diet consists of Protein drinks that are low carb and Protein Atkins bars up to like 2 or 3 a day. My calories have been low. First day 500 calories and second day 800...today so far 800. I think so much of this is giving up the overeating and wanting to eat and knowing that I can hold food but just can't have it. I don't know how I'm going to go til the 26th. Well, really til the 28th... I'm flying to get my surgery done and am spending two days in CA before I cross the border. Just wondering if anyone else has struggled and am curious if it gets any easier. I can have broth as well and am trying to think of ways to jazz it up or spice it up without adding any food or any carbs to it. Any suggestions?

Thanks... I'm about to rib my skin off!

Hey whos ur surgeon. I am on day one but mine wasnt so bad except for the fact that i have finals this week and wanted to munch on stuff as i studied :( but i resisted. I figure id better start getting used to it now.. :) You can do it just try to get through it one day at a time. I think to myself "just for today" and it seems to work

Hey, I was banded ont the 31st..the first 4 days of my two week pre op diet were the hardest for me, it does get easier!! For my Protein shakes i blended them with ice so they were thicker and that seemed to really help me...Not sure what you could do to spice up the broth though..

Good luck, you can do it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
