what were your emotions the week leading up to surgery

Recommended Posts

I'm surprised at how calm I feel about the whole thing. I guess part of it is that I really trust my surgeon. He is a friend of my stepdad's; (my stepdad is an ICU nurse), and he has an excellent record. I feel really excited, and I keep daydreaming about all of the things that I'm going to do to make my life better; and all the things I'll be able to do when I'm healthy.

My partner, Greg, however, is freaking out. He thinks I'm going to die, and he's worried sick. Poor thing. It doesn't help that I traveled from Oregon to California to get this done, and Greg can't be here with me because he just started his new job last week, so he can't take any time off.

I'm grateful to have my mom and stepdad as a support system while I'm here.

My emotions were excitement. I was excited to change my life, excited to feel better, excited to not be depressed. Sure maybe in the back of my mind, I was a tad worried, I know the risks of anesthesia very well. But you know what I don't regret having this surgery for one second. I have not been depressed in over 5 months. And while I still have a ways to go I feel so good and I look 100 ttimes better. (in clothes)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
