Recommended Posts

So is Everyone doing their weight loss calculations from the date the band was placed, or from the date all this begun. (pre surgery, liquid diet ect)?

Thank You for your input :D

I did mine from my liquid diet. Basically when I started my lapband journey.

I calculate from my first visit on this Journey... However Cedars Sinai Weight Loss Center mentioned that they don't use that weigh-in weight, but use the pre-op visit weight for their calculations... They just let me know that and told me I can go from whichever date I like myself, but be aware if I saw the descrepancy.

I am counting from basically the second visit, because that is when I began changing my eating habits to prepare for the band. I cut out all candy, most potatoes, cut way back on diet cokes and started drinking lots of Water. I have been without any soda's since Wednesday, May 25th, the night before my surgery.

My weight is from the start of my "journey". I did not lose or gain on my 'supervised diet" and lost 4 lbs on my 3 day preop liquid diet.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
