What do you do with a disappointing weight loss?

Recommended Posts

I weighed in today with a 3 lb weight gain for the last month. Prior to this I lost 6 lbs over 2 weeks.

I am naturally disappointed but I was not perfect.

How do you regroup after a disappointing weigh in?

Me? Imam having wine tonight and will regroup for the next 6week weigh in.

Pick yourself up and dust yourself off! You are averaging 6 pounds per month. That is awesome! You will have setbacks from time to time. Don't let it get you down. Sometimes our bodies regroup and take a break. Keep doing the right things most of the time and it will pick up again.

Keep up the good work!!

I agree with cocoa! I let it get the best of me for tooooooooo long and got a point where I did not care. Now i am back on track and am wondering why i let it get to me!! Sometimes you plateau and sometimes you lose a lot! just get back on and stay positive! Good luck with your journey!welldoneclap.gif

It happens to the best of us and I think you have already been given the best advice in the posts before mine. Our bodies vary in weight for so many different reasons, a 3 pound gain could be the fact that you weighed yourself at the wrong time or had a late dinner!! Don't be discouraged, just keep your head up and know you are heading in the right direction - your progress has been great, keep up the good job!

Good luck!

I usually add this experience to these types of posts. I was tired yesterday. But my losses went is starts and stops. I lose 1 lb in a week, then be the same for one, lose 2, up 1, same, same, down 3, up 2, down 1, same, same, same, down 4.

For me, it was not steady, but the trend was down! I averaged 3/4 of a pound per week. Lower than the "advertised" 1-2 pounds per week. But once I figured out how my body let go of the weight, it was all good!!

Just please don't say phooey, I'm going to have a milkshake! Follow your band rules. You said you were not perfect. That's OK. But is it a sign that you might need a fill? Were you more hungry? Perhaps it is time to see your surgeon for a touch up fill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
