hey barbie

im here still trying to keep up. congrats on onederland, thats still my goal. if i get to 199 i will be happy.

so i did have a rough couple of months but i have been focused and finally started back getting my fills. i just started doing Turbo Fire and im enjoying it. its hard but fun all at the same time. i think i have found what i need...am i in a relationship or what lol.

anyway im hoping to hit 100lbs lost by our 2 year mark. i lost 8lbs from my last WI and im aiming higher than i ever did before. i wake up now at 5:30 just to workout. i find that its better that way and the kids do not disturb me.

i hope more people post i would love to see how we are all doing.

Hey,

I just wanted to stop by and say that after almost 2 years of struggling with my lap band and not losing weight, I have decided to undergo a revision.

I'm proud of all of you who have lost weight, or met your goal weight, but also want those of you have haven't to know that you're not alone.

I'm not trying to tell anyone that they should do what I've done. Just that you shouldn't feel discouraged if you're not making the same progress as others.

Best to all,

Juniper

hi juniper

im also considering a revision. im going to south america in july so i will get an unfill then once i go back to have Fluid added back i plan to start my process. i have lost weight with my band and im happy for that but i certainly need to lose more and think a different surgery will help me get to goal.

my band is not all the way full but i never wanted to fill it to the max, i always wanted some wiggle room. i wish you success in the next phase of your journey.

daqui,

it's a tough decision to make, and for me i had to deal with feelings of personal failure and worry over whether yet another surgery is really the best option for me.

but the band was such an ordeal. as it turns out, that "little bit of reflux" that my doctor didn't seem at all worried about ended up making it impossible for me to ever get actual restriction without vomiting and "foaming".

of course now i'm dealing with the recovery of a SERIOUSLY invasive surgery, and looking at eating meals the size of baby portions for the rest of my life, but i think i can handle that better than sliming/vomiting every time i try to eat.

keep in mind that there is NO adjusting the bypass, no wiggle room. and if you eat too much often enough, you WILL stretch your stomach back out over time. there's people out there who've failed at keeping their weight off after bypass surgery just like with the band (not as many, percentage-wise, from my understanding, but they're still out there).

whatever you decide to do, i wish you health and happiness. and enjoy your trip!!

Hi everyone,

I too have had my struggles with the band. I lost 50lbs very quickly, but after that each lb has been a struggle. My port flipped shortly after my surgery, and I had it replaced finally about 2 months ago. I am going to do the 5 day pouch test and hopefully that will kick start more weight loss for me! Hope everyone is doing great!!

Hi Everyone!

Hope to hear from you all. No matter where you are, it's good to to come back here to the place people understand and don't condemn!

I FINALLY went in for a fill 10 days ago after more than a year. I had stayed away because it was always so difficult to get in to see the doc and I wasn't doing well anyway, and ..... you know the deal. Finally went in to see the PA (really like him!!) and got a .5cc fill. Can definitely tell a difference in my attitude and how much I can/want to eat. Also, I read something on one of these forums that helped me as well. Here is the link that was posted, and it helped me to kind of re-establish what I knew about the band and how it works. dr simpson

I also started running (using that term very loosely) again, and have lost 5 of my regained pounds as of this morning. Yay!

SO, THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS: wherever you are, hit that restart button again. We have worked too hard and been through too much to let this get away from us now.

Can't wait to hear from you guys! Where are ya?

Mary

I am a member of the Class of July of 2009. I've had a great band experience. I'm sorry for all of you that have struggled.

I've lost over 100 pounds since surgery (116 to be exact). I have another three to lose for a personal goal. I'm thrilled with my band decision although if I were to do it again, I'd probably go for a sleeve.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
