It's not illegal to carry prescribed pain meds across the border. You will have your meds and a script, so you are go to go. In fact, you can even take liquid meds in your carry-on on the plane. As for vitamins, my program allows you to resume vitamins between days 5 and 7 post-op.

Started as a 22/24 pants; now wear a 10. 2X shirts; now a medium 42C (or D) bra; now 36B (flirting with a 34) 9W shoe; now 8.5M Ahh... I also wore a men's 2XL extrication jumpsuit for EMS work (with much difficulty). I now wear a medium. I might could wear a small if I didn't have to wear warm layers underneath.

I am a member of the Class of July of 2009. I've had a great band experience. I'm sorry for all of you that have struggled. I've lost over 100 pounds since surgery (116 to be exact). I have another three to lose for a personal goal. I'm thrilled with my band decision although if I were to do it again, I'd probably go for a sleeve.

I've followed the Dr. K thread for over two years but have not contributed much. Have never had the pleasure of meeting any of the others on the thread except for... hmm... I don't know her name on-line. She is also from Durango (where I live) and had a different surgeon but I think she met some of you. I'm Robin and had my lapband done in July of 2009. My surgery weight was 272 (highest ever was 307). I currently weigh 156 and should be happy here (and I am for the most part) but I have a personal goal of at least seeing 153.5 once so that I can claim a loss of half of my former self. I am so thrilled with my loss and progress. I love that I have improved my health so dramatically (I was on pre-diabetes drugs and two hypertension meds and am now on just one b/p med that I probably should get rid of). I am so much more active that ever. I'm a lousy exerciser, but I can do things now. I think nothing of walking cross town to get a coffee (yes, Durango is small but I couldn't do it before). Before losing weight, I had dreams of a veggie garden and chickens; now that I'm slimmer, my dreams are a working reality. I'm a certified Colorado Master Gardener and a licensed EMT (volunteer) and I can actually participate in these activities. I'm heading to Denver next week (12/15-12/16) to meet with Dr. Weaver and get a bit of a fill. I have decent restriction right now but find I get hungry way too quickly. Since my last adjustment (a slight un-fill in June) I have lost no weight. No gain, but down 2-3 pounds and then up again. Tom said I'd probably need a bit put back in, but I was so happy to not have reflux that I've just enjoyed the level I am at. It's now time to get the last three pounds off for good. Hoping I can meet some of you someday.

I've had one slice of pizza every other week pretty much since I was banded in July 2009. My husband loves his Friday night pizza and he buys one every other week. I generally eat the rolled edge, a bit of the under crust, and all of the toppings. I'm full and my cravings are satisfied. I don't eat much bread otherwise. Perhaps a slice of toast with my Breakfast on the weekends; some crackers; or part of some crusty bread at dinner out. I don't know that I so much have problems with it, but I try to follow my doctors suggestions of eating Protein first (and bread doesn't fit into that plan well).

I'll do a quick check in too since we are a little past the 10 month mark. I've lost 78 pounds since my pre-op diet. I admit I've been terrible about exercise but do try to stick to the bandster rules. If it ever warms up here, I might venture outside and walk. I'm not the speediest loser, but I feel like the choices I'm making are sustainable and I will continue to lose. I did have my first (and only) gall bladder attack on April 6. I was able to see the surgeon on the 7th and was in the OR on the 8th. I wasn't about to have another GB attack. Since surgery my weight loss has been great. Not sure what has revved me up, but I'll take it. We all need to check in in two months on our Bandiversaries.
