Sometimes I really try not to look at others weight lose because everyone is different. My metabolism is awfull too ...ughhh. The the Dr. says " well once your over 30 it gets worse" I felt so old...lol ! He said to do 30 minutes of cardio every day instead of an hour every other day.Helps keep the metabolism up .

So sorry to hear you are frustrated. I know your frustration!! I am also frustrated at times. I am doing everything right. eating the right foods, evercising...blah blah blah and the weight isn't coming off like everyone elses!!! I should be (if I lost 2-3 lbs wk) down 20 lbs. less then what I am now!!! Just hang in there.

I know I have a s l o w metabolism. I am going to try and detoxify and eat whole foods!!! We shall see!!!

Good luck!

Frustrating appointment yesterday...but happy with the end result.

I got off work at 7am, my truck started and made it to the parking garage exit then the clutch went out. 2 coworkers pushed me across the street where I called AAA then the clinic to CANCEL my appt for an unfill...I tinkered under the hood and got the truck going again. Anyway my appt was at 9:15 with the nurse practitioner and I did NOT like her. She rushed me, did a barium xray and said my band (at 5.8 out of 10 cc's) "looks wide open" so I need to look at my eating technique. I take tiny bites, chew well, and have resorted to eating junk food. I tried to explain to her that not being able to keep healthy foods down and eating chips, ice cream, chocolate, etc (foods that would go down) was something I was blaming on willpower & stress until I realized I was maybe too tight. So, she agreed tot ake Fluid out even though the xray swallow "looked fine" (well yes thin fluids go down fine...it's solids I have trouble with) but that I need to find a way to cope with the stress (working on it), be busier, and "just not eat the junk foods or take seconds." Ok if it wa sso easy to just not eat I would not be obese. Duh. And busier...holy heck...I agree I need to start an exercise program and plan to once my youngest starts preschool in September, but I have 3 little kids, work 24 hours a week (and often do not sleep around that work schedule), have a mini farm of animals to tend to, plus do some work on the side as I can. The past month it seems like every waking moment has gone into cleaning/organizing house. I cannot be busier. :-(

Anyhow she did take out .8 cc and I CAN EAT!!! It feels so good to not be getting stuck and be able to eat Protein again. So, now I can focus on my 3 meals a day and get back on track.

Ok so I know I've been venting because I m not losing like the others but today I woke up and lost 3 pounds ! Im so confused because nothing has changed. Also I'd like to know if anyone can give me examples on how much they are able to eat. I can still eat 2 slices of Papa Johns pizza, thin crut w/ just veggies . I think this is still to much . Hope everyone is having a great day : )

It's not about what you can eat, but more about what it takes to make you feel satisfied. I can eat two whole slices of pizza too, but I'm quite satisfied after one and don't need the other to feel satisfied. Just my 2 cents!

Hi just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I have hit a wall the last few months...no weight loss and even have gained back about 10lbs. I am totally bummed and worried that I did all of this for nothing. I go to the doc on Monday for a fill, I think I'm at 5cc's now. How are all the rest of you guys doing?

I've done pretty well. I've had a few plateaus but they only last a week or so. I'm down 73 lbs overall and down 61 post op. Onederland is less than 7 lbs away. I haven't weighed that little in 20 years. Skin is pretty saggy but I don't care. I have PIication with my band and I think that makes a real difference.

Down over 90 pounds. 92 to be exact. Hit a Plateau a month ago and stayed steady for 1 month with no loss .. Then continued down another 14 this month. So all's well that ends well. That period of time was very frustrating. I kept up the same things and just couldn't lose weight. Then just as mysteriously it started again. Just happy now. Best advice I can give is to do what I did. KEEP IT UP. Just don't quit. I saw my doc and didn't do a fill that month. We agreed that it would pass and it did. Good advice from the doctor. Best of LUCK! STAY STRONG!

TNT,

I'm right there with you. I've been so bummed I haven't even had the courage to check in here. I went for about 6 weeks too tight and eating crap foods cause they went down easy, had an unfill of .8 cc and was excited to get back on track and instead I've gained about 9 pounds. My fear is that I'm one of these people who has no willpower and is failing because of it. It's like all the times I've dieted before and got sidetacked for "just one day" and never got back on track. I know I have the band and CAN get back on track, but have yet to do so. I just feel like a great big fat failure (literally). Maybe we can help each other somehow? If yo want to? Somehow be accountable to each other? In truth as I type this I keep thinking about what can I eat....what can I find to binge on...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
