I haven't had a fill in quite a long time. Also haven't lost weight in a year and have been eating around my band. Starting to get my food choices back on track but have a question about the band. I notice restriction when I eat. If I eat too fast or don't chew well, it will get stuck and come back. But I can eat a relatively large volume of food, like more than 2 cups. Should I just get a fill or go on liquids for a few days?

I would be extremely careful eating too much. I just found out this week that my band slipped and the doc said any number of things could have caused it and it wasn't necessarily something i did, but I know I was eating too much. A part of me feels like this is my fault for not following the instructions and I have learned an extremely important lesson. I will be having surgery in 3 weeks to correct the slip. I have not found out yet if insurance will cover the procedure (I was self pay for the lapband).

My sister also has the lap band and has had it for about 5 years or so. I just had mine last year. She had a similar issue to yours and told the doc and he said you should not let becoming full be an indicator of when to stop eating. That you should limit your portions to 1 cup. If you are still hungry after 20 mins, than you should get an adjustment, but eating more than a cup can cause complications.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
