Has Oprah had WLS?

Recommended Posts

I heard a rumor from a friend who is related to one of anna nicole's chefs that she had the band. and she had lots of complications from it too because she refused to follow the rules when it came to eating, but eventually it made her so sick she started following the rules. she left the country to have it, and she has actually been "altered" in the head less due to less drinking and less pill popping. but it has really helped her back pain losing all that weight. And she did use trimspa after the surgery. It helped raise her resting metabolic rate, because she refuses to work out. she says she likes the soft look, and doesn't want muscles.

I would have to think to endorse and say you lose weight from Jenny Craig if you actually arent would be illegal is someway wouldnt it? As for Oprah I think she looks great for her age because - for a start she is rich and they all look good, she hasnt had kids, she is dark, most dark women I see hold their age great and again her weight fluctuates too much to have a band. When you can afford to have every meal made and put in front of you and a personal trainer to drag your lazy butt up everyday that is why you lose weight, everyone has their own opinion but I just dont think Oprah would hide it.

Back to Kristie, I really think it would be illegal is someway to get on worldwide TV and claim you have lost weight eating Jenny Craig food if you had had WLS, and I really cant see Jenny Craig risking that.

Right on Kel! Oprah, by the way, may be in the business of getting and staying rich, but she has been incredible about sharing her wealth, and deserves better than to be thrown in a bucket with Star Jones and gosh knows who else. Also, not for nothing, we know waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much about Oprah. She spills the Beans on stuff I would rather not know. So if she had surgery, trust me WE WOULD KNOW!!!!! Hi, does anyone rememebr the liquid diet? And the size ten reveal?

1. oprah had a whole show about her hair weave and how it made her feel great, like whoopi goldberg with the white shirt on her head.

2. yes, her face looks great. as we say, black don't crack. my mom's 66 and regularly get's mistaken for early 40's.

The thing about Oprah looking so young, 99% of the time that the public sees her she is in major make-up. She can also afford to use the best skin care products on the market, I know that she loves origins products, the eye cream is $42 an ounce. I love it too but at that price it is a rare treat for me, she can afford to bathe in it if she wants. ~Mandy

As far as Oprah, I think she is determined to be healthy and does a damn good job at it...no surgery on her part.

As far as Kirstie, I was on Jenny Craig before surgery and she IS the spokesperson for Jenny Craig, NOT Nutri-System and she looks as if she is losing with it and not with surgery.

As for Star Jones.....you know that woman had surgery!! Just look at her. She has lost 150lbs in one year. I think she might have had the gastric bypass and won't own up to it. She is half of her weight and actually she looks like she might want to put maybe 5-10 back on so she doesn't look like a drug addict with the bags under her eyes and the really thin face. I really like Star Jones and I think she is a good person but I think she should own up to if she had it or not. I watched her interview and she skirted the issue of wls like the lawyer that she is and didn't give a straight answer.

Anna Nicole Smith is just plain weird and needs to get off the drugs.

But everyone has their opinion, that is just what I think. :)

After having wls I have become a big sceptic when seeing anyone losing an extreme amount of weight and trying to profit from it. In my opinion most celebrities who endorse products rarely use them. I don't think oprah has had surgery but as for the rest of them there's no question. I havent told many people because I dont want to be under a microscope and having everyone always wondering about my weight, and how come it is not coming off faster. So far people have only asked me if I have lost weight and not how I am doing it. But when they do I will proudly tell!!

Well, I still say Star looked better fat. Not just physically, but in her eyes. Every time I see her on TV I feel so bad for her. I don't know what it is. It freaks me out. She looks dead in her eyes, even when she's on Dr. Phil telling us how together she is and how we need to buy her book and be just like her.

I think the fact that she's hiding something just makes it that much more obvious.

I know Oprah seems honest, but if she's come out and said she's not had any face work done, she's not being truthful. There is no way at her age she wouldn't have some wrinkles and signs of aging. But on the contrary, her face is 100% smooth and tight. She looks about 40 when I think she's in her 50's. At the very, very least, she's had major botox. Actually, I can find lots of pics of her from about 10 years ago and her face looks alot older than it does now!

Folk never guess right how old I am without talking to me for an extended converstation. We are talking, they never guess within a decade. A lot of folks think I'm in my 20's which rocks my boat.

I do not believe that Oprah's had any sort of WLS, she doesn't need to with her support staff. I know that If I had the same support staff I would have never needed the band.

Also, when she was a lot heavier, she looked a lot older. When I look through the before and after pix on our board, I'm always astounded that folks look so much younger after losing weight.

oh, and if Kirstie's only lost 60 or so pounds, then I say that was whipped fat, you know, air was added, like frosting....

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
