My six month bandiversary is Monday, March 7th and I am 1lb away from a total of 50lbs since my highest weight in April of '09. So that got me to thinking, measuring pounds is good, but what about that BMI the docs are always harping on. So I find this link:

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bminojs.htm

and I checked my Highest BMI, Current BMI, and Goal BMI. Here are my results:

Highest: 272lbs 48.2 BMI

Current: 223lbs 39.5 BMI

Goal: 165lbs 29.2 BMI

I am pretty pleased with myself and thought I would share. Anyone else?

Good luck everyone!

You should be pleased with yourself...you are doing great!

We dropped almost the exact same amount of BMI points in the first six months so your progress seems to be close to what mine was. I thought I would post mine to give you an idea of a possible timeline:

40.2 start31.8 in (6 mos)

24.9-Normal (8 mos)

23.5-Initial goal (almost 1 yr.)

21.6- Current (almost 3 yrs.)

That's great! I am very happy to be out of the 60's with my BMI! I have dropped over 10 points! Yippie! Still morbidly obese but better than before!

I went from a starting BMI of 41.3 to current BMI of 24 Whoo Hoo!

One thing to keep in mind is that when you reach a BMI of 25 (normal weight) you have then lost 100% of your excess weight. If you drop lower than 25 you go over 100% of the excess!

My one year bandiversary is in 10 days. I went from a bmi of 47.1 (morbidly obese) to 29.8, which means I'm just overweight. I can;t even remember the last time I was "just overweight".

41.2 to 35.4 in 3 months!

I track BMI and lbs. lost on my ticker. As a goal, I picked the nearest 5-lbs. within the "normal" BMI range. Getting there! Banane23.gif

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
