How has your BMI changed?

My six month bandiversary is Monday, March 7th and I am 1lb away from a total of 50lbs since my highest weight in April of '09. So that got me to thinking, measuring pounds is good, but what about that BMI the docs are always harping on. So I find this link:

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bminojs.htm

and I checked my Highest BMI, Current BMI, and Goal BMI. Here are my results:

Highest: 272lbs 48.2 BMI

Current: 223lbs 39.5 BMI

Goal: 165lbs 29.2 BMI

I am pretty pleased with myself and thought I would share. Anyone else?

Good luck everyone!

You should be pleased with yourself...you are doing great!

We dropped almost the exact same amount of BMI points in the first six months so your progress seems to be close to what mine was. I thought I would post mine to give you an idea of a possible timeline:

40.2 start31.8 in (6 mos)

24.9-Normal (8 mos)

23.5-Initial goal (almost 1 yr.)

21.6- Current (almost 3 yrs.)

That's great! I am very happy to be out of the 60's with my BMI! I have dropped over 10 points! Yippie! Still morbidly obese but better than before!

I went from a starting BMI of 41.3 to current BMI of 24 Whoo Hoo!

One thing to keep in mind is that when you reach a BMI of 25 (normal weight) you have then lost 100% of your excess weight. If you drop lower than 25 you go over 100% of the excess!

Congrats! Mine is on my ticker.

46.7 to 40.4 so far!

I love my band!

My one year bandiversary is in 10 days. I went from a bmi of 47.1 (morbidly obese) to 29.8, which means I'm just overweight. I can;t even remember the last time I was "just overweight".

My six month band anniversary is on the 24th of this month.

I started this journey with a BMI of 34.7 and today my BMI is 26, still overweight, but getting closer to being a new healthy me.

I love my band!

April 2008 my BMI was 36.6 - OBESE

March 2011 my BMI is 24.9 - NORMAL

Nov 12, 2009 (day of surgery) 298 lbs- BMI 44.1-Morbidly Obese

This morning March 5th, 2011 201 lbs BMI 29.7-Overweight

Started at 43.2 BMI, April 2009. Now I am 24.4 BMI March 6. 2011.

I started out with a BMI of 56 and today I'm a 33.

41.2 to 35.4 in 3 months!

I track BMI and lbs. lost on my ticker. As a goal, I picked the nearest 5-lbs. within the "normal" BMI range. Getting there! Banane23.gif
