How many CC is your Lap Band Filled until you're not hungry?
I have 10cc in a 14cc band. Took quite a while to get there, but I actually think I need a slight adjustment, and I mean slight. My last fill was 5 months ago and he put in 1.5cc and I couldn't get down Water. He took 1/2cc out and I have been golden since. However, I think I may need a slight tiny adjustment to get me JUST right. I will talk it over at my next appointment. But, saying all that, I need to say this... BE PATIENT! The band is a tool not a miracle. You made the choice to have the surgery, now be patient with the process. Good luck, everyone!

greek yogurt
I like the Chobani plain, then I add fruit and splenda. I also adore the Athenos with the fruit on the side. Perfect for taking to work, you mix in the fruit for sweetness and they are only 100 calories each.

Band isn't working for me
Well not exactly the same, I found myself with unresolved food issues as well. I had lost almost 70lbs when I realized I still was "boredom" eating and not listening to my body. Thankfully my insurance covers Psychiatric services, so I started seeing a counselor and a dietician (this was not required prior to surgery for me). I did it out of frustration because I had plateaued, but I see it making a difference already. I hope that you will be able to see help because it has been a real eye opener for me! Good luck, everyone!

How many bags of sugar have you lost
Nearly 16 bags of sugar... great way to look at it, btw! Good luck, everyone!

noises that i make
I don't make noises when I am eating or drinking, but my stomach has turned the volume to "11" on all crazy stomach noises. My surgeon told me it was normal, if somewhat embarassing! Some days are better than others! Good luck, everyone!

Ugh! I have plateaued!
I have had small plateaus before, but this one is getting ridiculous! I still work out like I have been, tried to watch what I am eating, but I am maintaining, not loosing! Any suggestions! This is very frustrating! Good luck, everyone!

Not Losing
I agree that you are not a failure until you stop trying! The band is a tool and has to be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise. Why did you put yourself through surgery if you don't want this to work? Restriction will not help if you are not putting in the effort. I am not familiar with you or your eating habits, but MyFitnessPal.com has done wonders for me to help track my calories and exercise! Good luck, everyone!

Meal Plan? Points System?
My biggest tip is exercise. MyFitnessPal.com has also been a big help in tracking my calories and exercise. I actually eat about 1400 calories a day. I am thrilled with my weight loss but I started seeing a counselor because I still do not feel my relationship with food is healthy. Thanks for the encouragement! Good luck, everyone!

Meal Plans? Points?
I started seeing a counselor a few months and at my appointment the other day she gave me a meal plan and points system. I have read through it, and I am still mildly confused. I am also intimidated by planning all my meals ahead of time. I am single and live alone, so left overs last FOREVER! Has anyone else used or is currently using either or both of these methods? What were your experiences and results? Advice? Suggestions? Thanks, and good luck, everyone!

What do you want to do when your skinny (or thinner)
First, here are some I have already accomplished: I can now cross my legs like a lady without any aid from my arms! I do not have to ask for a seat belt extender on an airplane (as a matter of fact, last time there was some tail on the belt!) Wear the same size as my bestie again ( I recently raided her closet) Buy a bra from Victoria's Secret Weigh less than 200lbs FUTURE GOALS: Come off my BP meds Start dating again Ride all the Rides at Cedar Point (my hometown) Get rid of the Jello jiggle under my arms Get rid of my Thunder Thighs Become a Zumba instructor Return my bestie's clothes and borrow from my sister! I am sure there of more, probably some I haven't even thought of yet! Good luck, everyone!

Free to good home...
Since there have been no taker, these are going into a yard sale to benefit my best friends cousin who has cancer. Thanks for looking. Good luck, everyone!

EXERCISE
I had five fills before the weight started "falling" off. I started hitting the gym 4-5 days a week (I LOVE ZUMBA, btw) and lost 20lbs in 2 months eating 1400 calories a day. I don't feel deprived and I am building muscles I didn't know existed. Next goal is to get rid of the underarm bat wings! My weight loss has slowed a little but I am still averaging 6-8lbs a month, so I am not complaining. The band is a tool, and like most tools, it cannot do the work alone! Good luck, everyone!

Hit Onderland today!!!
Welcome to the club! Way to go! Good luck, everyone!

Sports Bras...
I need a good sports bra (or 2) but I wear about a 40DD. Needless to say they are not so easy to find in stores, but online they are aplenty. I have already come to the conclusion that it is going to cost a small fortune, but if I am going to invest, I want to invest wisely. I have no issues with underwires or racerbacks or anything like that. I want a bra that is going to keep me from getting a black eye (or two!) in Zumba. Any suggestions? Good luck, everyone!

Onederland is an amazing place!

Do you go to therapy?
I have had my band for over a year now and have lost over 75lbs but I decided to make this work long term I needed some back-up. So I have started going to therapy. In the last few years, I have made several life changing decisions so why not therapy too? Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of inner strength, knowing yourself well enough not to be afraid to ask for help. Good luck, everyone!

no motivation! gained weight!
When I decided to have Lap Band surgery, it was a HUGE decision for me. I had NEVER EVER had surgery in my life! I believe that having the lapband was a way for me to hold myself accountable... "Why did I put myself through this if I am going to waste it?" I remind myself of this everytime I have a relapse. Then I just pick myself up, dust myself off, and start over. I always thought the phrase "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" was stupid, but, if amended, I can believe it. "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING HEALTHY FEELS!" Good luck, everyone!

Fat free/ Sugar free/ original????
My only concession to that is I no longer drink any type of soda or use real sugar in my baking. I am a splenda girl. I really can't taste the difference now. Good luck, everyone!

How much have you taken off???
I was banded 9/7/10. I have lost a total of 78lbs in a little over a year, inlcuding the Pre-Op diet. I am about 30lbs away from my goal. My surgeon and his staff are very pleased with my progress and have no doubt I will meet and probably exceed my goal. I used to get discouraged if I did not loose as much as other people, but instead chose to focus and my weight loss, how great I feel and how much better I look. You are doing great, so keep it up! Good luck, everyone!

So, let's talk about plateaus!
I'm with SageTracey on this. I have hit plateaus a few times in my journey so far and changing up my diet a little bit and varying my exercise routine seems to kick start the loss again. Keep the faith, you are doing great! Good luck, everyone!

NSV!!
CONGRAULATIONS!! I have gone from a 22 to a 16. The smallest thing I had in my closet was an 18, so you know what that means! NEW CLOTHES TIME! It's a great feeling! Keep up the great work and GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

1 Year Bandiversary!
I was banded one year ago today (9/7/10) by Dr Dan Lane in Mobile, AL. What a year it has been! I have lost 75lbs so far and feel great! I went from a size 22 to a 16. My best friend and I are sharing clothes again! I went a 2X uniform pant to a L. I went from a 44DD bra to a 38DD. I am in counseling now to make sure my "ED" doesn't come between me and long term success. I can buckle my seatbelt on plane without asking for an extender (there is actually a little tail left over now!) I go to the gym 4x a week! I discovered Zumba! I LOVE IT! I am considering becoming an instructor I am in ONDERLAND! My BP is down, but not enough to get me off the meds yet :/ The weight is slow to come off right now. I can go weeks without the scale changing I miss eating some things I used to take for granted like bread and pasta What a year! Here's looking to future success and meeting my goal before next September! Good luck, everyone!
