  1. Good for you! Keep up the great work and the positive attitude! You are an inspiration!! Good luck, everyone!
  2. I ZUMBA at my wellness center. I LOVE ZUMBA! I am actually thinking about becoming an instructor. HOWEVER, I have never tried the Wii game. I have Gold's Gym Dance Workout for my Wii and I like it alot. It has alot of similar moves to Zumba. But, I may have to try the Wii game. If any of you have a chance to try a class, go for it! Don't be afraid, there are modifications for everything and you can go at your own pace when you need to. No matter what, just keep moving! Good luck, everyone!
  3. I LOVE MyFitnessPal.com! I use it online and have the app on my iPhone! It really is like a checkbook... helps hold me accountable. LOVE IT! Name is KAKLOS on MFP! look me up! Good luck, everyone!
  4. I have a 14cc band. i was banded one year ago tomorrow. I currently have 10cc in my band. It took several months to get there, but everyone is different. REMEMBER, the band is a tool that has to be used properly, not a magic wand! Keep at it and you will see results! Good luck, everyone!
  5. OK, I have been on BC since I was 17 and my periods are like clockwork. I had surgery and BOOM, three heavy periods in 6 weeks. Went to my GYN and she said not to worry, surgery and weight loss are a shock to the system. In about 2 months, everything was on schedule again. As for hair loss, make sure you are getting plenty of Protein. I also added Biotin to my supplements. It promotes hair nail and skin health. For me, it worked great! Good luck, everyone!
  6. I recently went on vacation (i missed my goal by 0.2 lbs, but have since met it) then attended a week long class for work before actually returning to work. My eating habits were effected but so was my exercise routine. This week I got back on the right track with everything and the weight is coming off again. You didn't mention what kind of exercise routine you have, but I firmly believe that keeping up a good routine and varying it helps keep you metablolism up. Hope this helps! Good luck, everyone!
  7. Hit ONEDERLAND today. I have not seen the scale start with a one in years!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  8. Dave- That was an EXCELLENT example. I lost 20lbs in 2 months and now I have plateaued. This is my first real plateau so I am a bit frustrated, but your visual is really helping me! Thanks again and Good luck everyone!
  9. I have 4 Lane Bryant Cacique' Bras free to a good home, just pay the shipping. I have 2 size 42DD lace full coverage bras, one ivory and one off white. Gently used but still in great shape. I also have 2 size 44DD 5 way bras. They are strapless, but come with straps, including the clear straps and back straps, that can be worn several ways. Barely worn, they are also in great shape. One is ivory and the other is beige. If you are interested, send me a message and we will work out the details. Good luck, everyone!
  10. TWO NSV's accomplished at the same time. 1. I got a bra from Victoria's Secret and it FITS! (BTW, the stores only go to a 38DD, but the online catalog goes to a 40DD. I got one from a store!) 2. My BFF and I are sharing clothes again! I raided her closet while here on vacation with the promise to return it when it's too big! We haven't been able to share clothes in 10 years! Good luck, everyone!
  11. I use Gold's Gym Dance Workout for my Wii. Got it brand new at GameStop for $19.99. LOVE IT! I think it helps me with Zumba, too, since alot of the moves are similar. Good luck, everyone!
  12. This may not be the answer you are looking for, but you can change the amount of calories MFP has listed. I do Gold's Gym Dance Workout for my Wii and the MFP calculations are always alot lower than what the game tells me, so I use the game's calorie count. It seems much more accurate. If you can keep up with your heart rate, you can calculate your own calories burned. Try this link: http://www.livestrong.com/article/78365-estimate-calories-burned-heart-rate/ Good luck everyone!
  13. I LOVE ZUMBA! I am 5'3" and 200lbs (now) but started Zumba over 50lbs ago. I go twice a week and would go more if my gym offered more classes. The instructor always encourages people to go at thier own pace, so just get in there and MOVE! Good luck, everyone!
  14. I personally use myfitnesspal.com, but there is another site that is very similar called loseit.com. MFP username is KimK813... friend me! Good luck, everyone!
  15. Thank goodness! I am a coaster junkie and not being able to ride one ever again is almost too scary to think about! Good luck, everyone!
  16. I had my appointment yesterday. I decided on NO fill. I am glad I did, too. The NP said she would've talked me out of it. I lost 20lbs (YEAH!) since my last appointment exactly 2 months ago! I started using MyFitnessPal.com to track my calories, exercise, and Water intake and it has been a god send! Talk to the staff at your doctor's office and then make your decision. Good luck, everyone!
  17. Stanley. First of all, he is very controlling and therefore a man Also, he's a tool (get it, tool?!?) Best I could do. Good luck everyone!
  18. My surgeon and his staff are like cheerleaders. Even when I don't think I am doing well, they are there with poms poms going cheering me along. A doctor, of all people, should know that every person reacts differently. Maybe you should talk to him about his lack of support or even consider another doctor. You are doing a great job and should feel over the moon about your accomplishments so far! Keep up the good work! Good luck, everyone!
  19. I had a really hard time with this, too. One great piece of advice I got about drinking while eating was this: fill a glass with ice and only drink what melts. It usually wasn't very much but it gave me the sensation of drinking with my meal. As my fills gave me more restriction, I found it nearly impossible to drink and eat, so it's not such an issue for me now. I usually wait at least 30-45 minutes after eating to drink anything. Let me share with you what has been a HUGE help for me in making sure I get in at least 64oz a day... a bottle cozy! I picked one up at Dollar Tree and it not only helps keep my bottle cold, I carry it everywhere!!! I set it down at work the other day and within 15 minutes someone was bringing it to me because they knew it was mine. I drink flavored Water or homemade sugar free lemonade a great deal. Plain water is not my thing. I was such a Coca Cola addict prior to my surgery that my whole kitchen is decorated in Coke (it still is, I like to vibe, but I haven't had one in almost a year!) With some effort, you will make it and won't even think about from now on. Good luck, everyone!
  20. Please visit this link! I am participating in 'Walk from Obesity' in Mobile, AL this fall and I am looking for sponsors and support! http://walkfromobesity.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&eventID=514&participantID=1769 Good luck everyone!
  21. Most dry cleaners offer alteration services... cheaper than new clothes or shipping! Good luck, everyone!
  22. Thanks for the advice. I was always told that asking for advice is getting someone to tell you what you already know. I don't think I need a fill, but I am going to work on portion control!!! Thanks again. Good luck everyone!
  23. I have an appointment scheduled for next Wednesday and I am not sure if I should get a fill or not. I currently have 10cc in a 14cc band and some restriction. Depending on what it is, I can eat up to 2C of food, but bread, rice, and Pasta are big No-No's (they so get stuck!) I am losing between 1.5-2lbs a week, so I know I am on track, yet I still get hungry every 3-4 hours, but sometimes I cannot tell head hunger from real hunger. I finally buckled and have an appointment with a counselor, but it is after my surgeon appointment. ARGGGHHH! Advice, suggestions, experiences? HELP!! Good luck, everyone!
  24. Thrift stores are a great way to go (I shop there all the time!) but I am also raiding my "skinny" friend's closets, with the promise to give it back when it gets "too big" Good
