I am 8 days post-op, and I have many little pains and sensations in my upper abdomen and chest. Do you actually feel your band inside? I am creeping myself out.

I'd appreciate your answers. Thanks for humoring the newbie.

I am 3 weeks post op today, and alot of the pain has subsided. The Dr. says alot of it is still air from the surgery. I do still have some port pain though. But have been told that goes away eventually as well.

You cannot feel the band itself. After the pain subsides, it won't feel that way. You will definitely "feel" the band once you get stuck for the first time. I'm not sure I should say you will feel the band because it really isn't the band you are feeling when you are stuck. Hope that makes sense.

For the first couple of weeks, you can feel things in your stomach, but now, I can't tell I have anything in there. all the aches and pains are gone I feel normal.

i worried about this before my surgery. not so much the band but i worried about being able to feel the tubing from the port to the band. i mean, its just "floating" inside the body, right? lol

anyway, i've never felt anything except my port.

I can feel my band sometimes ..... it depends on how I'm sitting or laying. It's not that I feel it around my stomach, but more like I feel it up against a rib or something. I can feel my port more often..... like when I lean against something, but it does not stick out.

Dont feel bad about asking questions. No you dont feel the band. The port some people can feel but I still cant really feel mine. I sometimes feel the port after a fill or more the area around where the port would be. Its kinda weird but you will be fine once you heal!

On occasion I can feel the sensation that you are talking about. You will also feel the band when you go for a fill. Its the weirdest feeling and it always makes me a lil queasy but it only lasts a minute.

I feel my port CONSTANTLY. My bra rubs it and there are certian ways that I cannot sit. It sticks out and is very visible. Just last week I was scheduled to have it moved but the Dr wasnt convinced that it would be any different anywhere else. Guess I'm just going to have to live with it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
