March 2011 Bandsters

Hi Everyone!!

Where are all the March bandsters at?!! I was just approved last week and have a surgery date of March 16th. Looks like I'll be starting a two week pre-op liquid diet (Optifast) on March 2nd which I'm not looking forward to!! Anyone else scheduled for March? Do you have a pre-op diet to follow?

Good Luck to everyone!! :)

Hi Everyone....sorry i have been missing, i have been going through some things personally :( anyway, i just had my 1st adjustment ....it was a little strange, i layed in the chair and the doctor felt around for my port...he found it and told me to get in a sit up position, stuck the needle in and pulled the plunger out and then injected 1/2 of the fluid and asked me to take a drink of water and count how many seconds it took to drain, he then put in a little more saline and then pulled it out...Doctor then made me drink 3 large slips of water to make sure nothing got stuck & i feel so dang full...i feel like i have eaten an entire thanks giving dinner!!!!! I am so excited because i have only maintained my 22 pound weight loss the last 2 weeks, i was worried that i wouldnt be successful w/ the band but i agree w/ others that have said after the adjustment its a whole nother ball game!! LOVE IT!

I cant find the thread on the post op side. Im not very good at this..lol ! It's 12 days post-op and the bubble in my chest is finally gone and I think my swelling is gone bacause my protien drinks, cream soups and jello arent keeping me full and my stomach is actually growling. Havent weighed myself either in a couple of days but everyone at school said they can see it in my face and thigh area( I have to wear scrubs every day). So thats a plus : )

Im right there with you! I did good on the liquid diet and now that I introduced mushy foods, I gained 3lbs! And the last 4 days I have been to the gym.... I dont get it either! I hope this starts coming off soon!

I was banded on march 15, 2011 and has gained a lb back, i am very confused right now, scared and not knowing what to expect. I do what they tell me, i even called dietician for more advice. now i am going back to preop diet again to get some more off quickly. the solid thing is not working for me right now. i havent received my first fill yet and im already up a lb. did i mention i have been excercising like crazy, someone please help me to understand, what is going on. I am devestated
