......BEFORE PICS.....BIG SIGH

Recommended Posts

So...I'm scheduled for surgery Feb 10th. I started to freak out and get scared a little but I will tell you........My husband and I took our "before" pics last night and that made all of my fear disappear and reassured that I am doing the right thing. Boy was that some eye opener......

I was probably more scared of the surgery than anyone, everyone else! I voluntarily rescheduled it 2 weeks later(March 10, of last year) and wondered why the hell I was doing it the morning of but everything went so well and so quickly. I was worried about afterwards, "depriving" myself. It was all for nothing, it has been very easy in fact. Its a learning process and I thought I had to know everything beforehand which isnt true. Its like starting a new job or buying a new car then wondering if you can afford it then it eventually becomes a way of life.

Dont worry, you'll do great. Im sure you've seen it here before but I wish I would have done it alot sooner.

Good luck!

I know exactly what you mean! The day I got my date (1/31/11) I was having cold feet and I looked at the pics I was in earlier that day and all doubt was removed

I can sympathy with you totally. I just found out last week that my surgery date is 2/15/11. I was starting to wonder if I was doing the right thing when I was dealing with all the insurance stuff and all the testing, it overwhelmed me. but once I got the approval and date now I am just ready to go. Even though this Protein Shake diet is gross. lol

You know... photos are brutally honest. It's weird how we can look in a mirror and think "Yeah, I look OK." But as soon as we see a picture, we see the truth. My husband has been taking picts of me every couple of weeks so that I can document the progression, and even though I can see a difference each time... I'm still always disappointed by how big I still look.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
