So far today has been a wonderful day! Even though its only 9 am...

I woke up to the phone buzzing to let me know the children had no school due to the Snow Storm. Jumped in the shower to get ready for work, then got the call from my boss "NO work for me today"! Wow..great!

I finished getting ready and decided to paint my nails and then "try to do my toenails" Its always a struggle (my daughter usually does it for me). But Guess What!!!! I was able to paint them by myself! I could reach my piggies without my belly boobs in the way! It might seem like "YEAH BIG DEAL", but its a huge deal to me!

Must be all the sits ups I am doing!!!!

Well just thought I would share my happiness!

LOL! It is a big deal!!!!!!!!!!!! I know exactly how exciting that is!!!!!!!!!!! Even tying your shoes with ease is exciting! I use to have my sister tie my shoes for me because I would get out of breath from bending over and trying to struggle around all the fat!

I am so happy for you! I used to ask for help doing both of these things! I tie my own shoes now but still have my daughter paint my toes simply because it feels like a little bit of pampering for me and she likes doing it (not to mention that I am sloppy..lol) My lastest NSV was being able to join the parents cheerleading team at my daughters' all-star cheer gym. We are working on a routine and practicing several times a week. We will be going up against the coaches team at our national competition at Disney in March. I have always wanted to be part of the team but sat on the sidelines and watched. This year it was finally my time and I am so excited about it! Great job to both of you ladies! Enjoy the small things!

I used to cheer! I miss it so much! After High School I didn't go to any college that had cheering b/c I was always the Chubby Cheerleader! But I loved it!!!! I did it for years, even pop warner cheering then in high school! Congrats to you..Jennibee that is AWESOME!!!! I will cheer you on! Keep me posted on how that goes! I wish my daughter would cheer! She is not into sports :( which makes me really sad! But my son is all about baseball (i played that too when I was young). So at least I have somthing to keep me going! Oh and he plays soccer!

My daughter is a Girl Scout in which I am the Cookie mom this year, and I can't even eat any of the cookies! BUMMER!!!

Well good luck! Keep me updated, let me know how you do!

I promise mandyb! I was totally shocked to have made it the whole way thru a practice without somebody taking me out on a stretcher! lol! I am determined to do it and set a good example for my daughter. And to prove that she isn't the only "talent" in the family! :D

Congratulations Mandyb! I had my first NSV today too. A good friend's sister-in-law saw me today for the first time in a little over a month and said, "Are you losing weight?" "You look great!" That was so good to hear. She's this adorable, chipper, active, in great shape nurse and it was great to hear a compliment from someone on the other side :D

Congrats Swan! I love getting those comments, although I don't quite know how to respond, but blush and run away! LOL.

This morning one of the girls at work said I looked really cute today! "Thanks," as I run for the door!

I don't have much social skills, LOL...might need a few lessons. With all the years I lack confindence b/c of my weight!

Lets keep the NSV's coming!

Non scale Victory...like something that you've been able to do since being banded/loosing weight that you couldn't do before...like tying your own shoes, walking a mile, or in my case cheerleading.

Non scale Victory! Meaning besides watching the scale go down....other thngs that we overcome or feel victorious!!! (if that is even how you spell it)! LOL.

Since I have lost 45 lbs I can now paint my own toe nails (and neatly)...LOL. (a NSV)!!!

I had a kinda NSV a few minutes ago: I was in the kitchen cooking when my husband came behind me, stood back for a few seconds and said "You're totally slimming down". Considering I'm only down about 20lbs and he sees me everyday it was nice to have someone notice! Can't wait to keep seeing those numbers go down, and congrats to everyone on their NSV's!

LOL, I am the same way, I am not good with compliments. Monday one of the Dr.s at my job asked me if I was losing weight, I couldnt even say yes, I was like maybe and went about what I was doing. I need to learn to react better to those things

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
