Yes I'm still here , just had a hectic couple of days.

The procedure was on Tuesday 1.30.Warwick was pretty nervous but that was to be expected. The Dr that was going to be sitting with him and applying the drops during the procedure was great. He took lots of time to explain everything and let Warwick listen to his ipod whilst the procedure was being done. They did the prep at 1.30 and then we had to wait about 1hr15min for the next stage. They took him through and were finished just after 5pm. At that point Warwick was fine - much better than I expected. He started feeling sick etc in the car on the way home. Not surprising as it was rush hour and we live out in the country so to get home took ages. He went straight to bed with no food(he's 16 if he doesn't eat you know he can't be feeling good) and slept through till about 9am yesterday. He didn't need the sleeping tabs or the strong pain killer. I helped him with his first lot of drops yesterday and then had to go to work.We left him with a long list of instructions as to what to take when and kept phoning to check he was OK. The only problem he had was slight boredom as he is not allowed to play on his DS until the bandage contact lens comes out next week.

Hubby and I then went straight from work to see Riverdance. The tickets were booked and paid for months ago before we knew he had to go for this "op". We weren't too worried as his 22 year old sister is living at home at the moment so he had someone with him after work. The show was excellent. We had centre, front row seats. The dancers legs are amazing - I swear they have knees that swing both ways! Hubby enjoyed it too even though when I told him I had booked tickets he looked at me rather strangely. (Apparently that was because he had forgotten what it was , we saw Lord of the Dance about 11 years ago).

Off to see the specialist for a first checkup today, we are lucky as we have been told we can go to the local one not the one that did the procedure - so much less stress with travel and parking. Then we need to go again nextweek and if everything is good they will see him in 3 months at which point they should know what the results are. Warwick is up and seems fine - he has just gone to run himself a bath as he cn't shower in case he gets Water in his eye.

Thanks for all the good wishes.

Glad to hear everything is going well!

Yes I saw on FB that you saw Riverdance <so jealous>. I saw it a few years back and I would love to see it again! Personally, after seeing Lord of the Dance and Riverdance...I liked Riverdance more.

Elcee, glad to hear all is well. I saw Riverdance a few years back. it was wonderful! DH says the tap sounds are taped and enhanced...dunno if it is true.

Elfee, maybe it is left over scar tissue?

Crystl, any decision on the fill?

My MIL, well actually my SIL will be asking MIL's doctor to place her on hospice tomorrow. MIL just sits and stares at the family and won't say what she actually wants. But goes along with what this SIL says. This SIL has been the last hold out on believing that MIL's health is failing. It's a relief, but DH doesn't handle this stress well. Ah the joys....NOT!

Yes, I really do think it's time for a fill for me. Right now the problem will be setting the appointment on a day off so I can drive to Denver. I normally have Fridays off, but this Friday I have a hair appointment and I am working an extra day next Friday. My hunger is back with a vengeance this week and I have gained some weight back. That does NOT feel good at all! I fear the scale in the morning. If I have to wait 3 weeks it may not be pretty. I guess I better call the surgeon's office and figure something out.

I know...I'm pretty geeked. I was losing 2 lb a week there for awhile, but I haven't lost anything since surgery. Well, ok I did, but I also gained 8 lbs last week (which I've since lost). I know it was just all the effects of surgery and the fluids they push, but still...it was a bit frightening. Thankfully I was back to normal by this past Wednesday. So only a few more pounds to go to onederland!

Sorry I've been away all week! I've been dealing with my own drama this week. Monday I got another fill and have been feeling pretty good. I'm finally down 60 pounds!! Unfortunately, also on Monday night someone broke into my house while my husband and I were asleep. They popped a lock off one of windows and came right in. They took my entire purse and my husband's wallet. The sheriff told us we were lucky we slept through it because anyone bold enough to break in while people are home are bold enough to use a weapon. We feel very lucky even though it was a huge pain to replace all our IDs and bank stuff!!

I hope you are all well!!

Deb

OMG Deb!

That is one of my worst fears. It sucks that they took stuff, but I'm glad it didn't turn into a much worse situation.

Crystal: Woohoo...are you having one of those 'mortgage burning' parties? :D

Deb: OMG...I'm so glad all they took were the purse and wallet and that you all are safe!

OK...so why would I still be having 'stuck' issues 10 days postop and no band? I made a 3 oz burger for lunch and got stuck on the first bite...including sliming!

Maybe your stomach is still hourglass shaped and retaining that with scar tissue?

So...my husband took me to dinner and a movie (HOP) and we went to a new Mexican restaurant. Normally we share but he wanted some kind of poblano enchiladas in mole sauce and I wanted a shredded beef chimichanga. Yeah, I know...flour tortillas but I've been really really good and I was so jonesing for Mexican. Usually these restaurants take a *huge* tortilla, fill it up and then fold it and deep fry it. This place took a smaller tortilla, filled it and left the ends open and then fried it on the grill. The smaller size is probably why I got two. I ended up eating one and some of the salad (lettuce topped with pico de gallo and guacamole type dressing) and calling it quits. Fortunately, the chips were horrible and the salsa was so spicy I couldn't even stand a small amount so no temptation there. No problems going back to my grain restricted diet though. I'm actually thinking of doing a clear liquid day just to clear my system of the excess sodium that I am sure is causing my puffiness this morning.

Also, no twinges from the incisions so I may try to do some Richard Simmons...although I'm feeling somewhat blah this morning so I may just 'go through the motions'...but hey...it's movement!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
