Dr. Chris Mann - Dr. information in Greenville, NC

Recommended Posts

I am interested in speaking with someone concerning the lapband procedure. I live about an hour away from Greenville but definitely have faith in the physicians in Greenville. My husband suffered a massive heart attack 2 years ago and through the Lord and the surgeons at Pitt Memorial - he survived. The quality of care outweighs what we can receive in Jacksonville. Do you have a website or may I get the information to contact your office?

Thank you for your time,

God bless,

Jaleena

Hi Jaleena, I live in Greenville NC and had lapband surgery March 30, 2011. I used Southern Surgical, Dr. McQuire and so far my experience has been a good one. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Hi J. I also had my lap band surgery done at Southern Surgical. Dr. Naziri did mine Dec. 18, 2008. They are absolutly the best. I love everyone there from the ones who check you in, right on down to every nurse.

I am so glad I chose that group of Doctors to do my surgery. I promise you will not be disappointed.

:P I called Southern Surgical the other day and am waiting for a call back (there computers were down). I am excited and scared. I have a BMI of 45 and am sure my BMI hasn't fallen below 40 over the past 5 years. How long is the process from when you first called them...until the surgury that is. What all pre-ops stuff did you have to do for Southern Surgical. I am so very ready to get all of this rolling.

Joyce, it took me over a year. Now that was not Southern Surgical's fault. I had all my pre-op tests completed in less than 2 months. My problem was, I was denied by BCBS of NC 3 times! I was right on the border with a BMI of 40. I eventually used an Obesity Advocacy group who had me approved after one letter! I am 6 weeks post op and my weight loss has been slow. I have lost 14 pds, thinking I am in what some on these boards call "bandster hell". The only thing keeping me in line food wise, is I know as I get fills I will have more weight loss and be full longer. Have you signed up for one of their free seminars? So many of your questions will be answered by atttending one of these. Best of Luck to you!

When I called, their computer system was down, so they have to call me back when all is up and running. I am so anxious to attend the seminar. I have learned volumes on this forum, wow, what a great source of information. Thank you so much and good luck to you.

I actually had a ultra sound on my gall bladder this year and they looked around while they were there. So I am sure that will help. I did find on that surgical centers web page of some of the things they plan to test. Thank you for all the info.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
