I am on my first day of pre-op diet too, and I think it depends on what your doctor says. I am allowed one small meal a day, supplimenting shakes for the other two. Outside of that I can have sugarfree Jello, or sugarfree popsicles. I would recommend that you call your doctor's office and ask them. They will be able to tell you exactly what your allowed and not allowed. Good Luck!

On day 1 and 2 I of pre-op diet I had to do an all liquid diet. Now I an allowed two shakes and one frozen meal of 300 calories or less. I am mildly surprised the liquid diet was not that bad. Trust me when I say I love to eat which is why I am weighing what I do 260 and I am only 5'3. To me the end will be worth it. Don't give up it is only temporary. You will reach your goal. My surgery date is 12.23.10. I can't wait.

Well I thought I would die the first 2-3 days on the liquid diet! Thought about eating everything around me but I didn't. The popsicles helped a lot. I am 4 weeks post-op so I survived, and you will too. It is hard but it gets you ready for the "after", not just physically but mentally. If you start learning how to sip your shakes and Water now, you will not make yourself uncomfortable after the surgery by taking large swallows.

I start my clear liquid diet tomorrow. I'm a bit anxious and nervous about it. My surgery is planned for Monday, the 27th. It seems that many here on the site have to be on their liquid diets for a much longer period of time. For me, it will only be 8 days. I wonder why there are so many variances.

I'm also a bit nervous about dealing with Christmas. I'm hostessing. I just have to wrap my brain around the whole thing and stay focused!!!

Merry Christmas everyone..... and for us... it's going to be an amazing 2011!!! biggrin.gif
