Another fill question

Recommended Posts

I am 71/2 months out. I have a 14 band and I am filled to 10. I have restriction. After last fill, I have to really chew food well, and really follow the rules. I can eat more than 4 oz of food, more like a cup or a liitle more. I have 2 different Doctors who do my fills. One says get fill because I can eat more, the other says no. He doesn't care how much I eat as long as I stay full for 3 hrs. i have lost 35 pounds since surgery and 52 total. Do I get anther fill? It would be .5. Do you guys really only eat 4 oz at a time? BTW I am still dealing with the head hunger, is that normal this far out from surgery.

My nurses say about a cup of food is right for bandsters. My doctor says 3oz of Protein and 1/2 cup of low carb veggies.

I don't know if I can post it here, but if you'll join the SmartBandsters group at yahoo.com, in the file section there is an article in the FAQ's titled "How to tell if you are Perfectly Adjusted". It should help you a bit.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SmartBandsters

When I go in to see my bariatric professionals, I take in about a weeks worth of my food/exercise journal and also make notes on how I felt .. this helps the nurses see how I'm doing and if I need more or less Fluid.

Good luck on your decision.

Hi,

I've hit a bit of a stall myself - much self-induced I admit. I haven't gained but I haven't lost in a few weeks either. I work hard for other people but have been slacking on my own needs. Nonetheless, I found this website that does a really nice job at listing all the questions that we should be asking ourselves about whether adjustments or needed or not. Check it out - I found it to be a helpful reference and a much needed wake-up call.

Lauren, excellent. That's the same list I was directing her to at Smartbandsters!! Jessie Ahroni, author of the article, is well versed in bands and is banded herself.

Thanks, I am headed to the site now. I should have mentioned I have been gaining, and losing the same 5 pounds for 2 months.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
