So what are you going to do when you loose your weight

Recommended Posts

What will I do? It's very simple. Cross my legs, look at my toes, sit in a lawn chair without fear of breaking it and so much more. Life is simple but my weight took away simplicity. Sure everyone wants to look good and feel good. But I want to feel good first and the look good part will come with time. Being overweight has affected my structure and freedom to do the things I want to do. If it didn't, I probably wouldn't be going for banding. By the way, my surgery is on December 30th...an early New Years present to me.

You know there are alot of things I look forward to doing (tucking my shirt in, not working around my gut when putting my skates, looking down and seeing my dick, the normal things hahahah) but i have to say the one thing i want to do is Stage dive again. Growing up in a punk rock hardcore music world stage dives were one of the greatest things in the world to do but i realize there is a weight window for these things and i have long passed it, but if i get down below 200 i am going to do it and not see the look of a bunch of horrfied faces of people going noooo the big guy is going to crush us

I like your list. Im a bit old for stage diving, but it will be nice to do things without my belly in the way!

Well, first will be a neck tuck then I want to buy some decent clothes. I am tired of running to Walmart for a quick pair of pants because the last pair don't fit anymore. I am a fan of Ralph Lauren clothes.

I would have to \ggree with Jennifer in Dallas..hibernating and hiding because I am to uncomfortable with myself, definately no more of that. I look forward to making myself more available, talking to guys more and being confident in my skin. I also look forward to shopping in stores like banana Republic/J. Crew. I shop those stores now but really can't fit any of the cute stuff like button down shirts that make your shoulders look fab and cut trousers and jeans. And a biggy is fitting the riding boots that are so popular now. I can't get them over my calves. Let's see..I also look forward to putting up a debut picture on my Facebook page, so I can be like, "look at me now"

In May, my girlfiend is getting married and I am a bridesmaid, I look forward the most to showing up and being a completely different size. I'm so excited....

I am set to be banded on the 28th of December so lots to look forward to but I also know that their are lots of changes to be made. More than anything, I want to desperately to lose my taste for sweets.

My brother is also getting married in May!! I have to go for my bridesmaid dress fitting at the beginning of April and I'm REALLY looking forward to the dress being huge :P When they ordered it, they ordered a size 22-24...Hoping I'll be down 8-10 sizes at that point :)

I am so with you ladies!! My best friend is getting married June 18th and being banded feb 7th. I was in my other girlfriends wedding and was maid of honor and just hate looking at the pictures. Although I felt beautiful and got many compliments, I had to have a different dress made because all of the other girls were a size 4 or 6 and I'm a 22. So I can't wait till June, doesn't matter if I lose 20 lbs or 80lbs, I just want to feel sexier and not stand out so much!!! Not to mention my family reunion is in July at the beach.... sexy bathing suit?? I think so!!

Good luck everyone, hope we all reach our goals!!

I am going to get a family picture taken (not too many pictures of me now), a boob job, and then a trip to a beach somewhere!

Yes, I was fitted as a size 22..Almost drove me nuts. To the point where just the number was keeping me from buying the dress. I just told her I would lose the weight. ..But my girlfriend was like "they run small just deal with it, cause I'm gonna be pissed if you buy a 20 and it doesn't fit." So I caved...but back then, I had no idea I would be approved so, size 9/10 here we come. Can't wait.

Also, in addition to this I can't wait to wear RINGS, and regular sized WATCHES and wear 4-5in heels without wincing in pain five minutes after having them on. Oh how I've missed that.

I was a punk rock / new wave kinda chick too! A stage dive sounds like an amazing way to Celebrate the loss.

I'm going to learn how to swallow fire, stilt walk and hulahoop, maybe not in that order. But those are my goals!

I want to be able to do a forward bend with my chest to my thighs (stomach gets in the way right now)

I want to climb one of those silk ropes that are hanging from the high bars in Venice Beach.

I'm going to use a SUP board this summer in a bikini

I'm going to go to vegas and wear a very risque evening dress!

I can't wait!!!

I want to be able to walk into any "normal" clothing store and know (as long as they have talls...haha) that they have my size.

I want to feel beautiful and confident in whatever dress I choose on the day I marry my best friend! (October 15, 2011) I won't even get NEAR a wedding dress right now at this weight.....

I look forward to being able to walk on a plane and not worry where my seat is and who it's next to and how am I going to hide that the seat belt doesn't fit so the stewardess doesn't get on my ass about it - and even better yet - don't have to pretend I'm PREGNANT cause I'm too ashamed to ask for a seat belt extension out of fatness!! (Yes, sadly, I DID this once....atleast I really didn't need the extender anyways, but dammit I was prepared! lol)

I want to be able to walk into any place at any time and not stare at the chair I'm about to try and sit in with the fear in my mind of, "is my a$$ going to fit....?? should I sit a little sideways at first just to make sure?"

I am looking forward to being able to sport a sexy swimsuit and for the first time EVER don't worry about how my thighs/stomach/butt looks and have to wear frumpy a$$ cover-ups while my friends are running around in their bikinis!!

I am sure there are LOTS LOTS more... this is just the ones that strike my fancy at the moment.... :success1:

I'm going to use the "small" bathroom stall at work!! I know this may sound crazy but HECK!!! I know I am not the only one that just about jumped off the toilet with a stomach cramp trying to get it wiped!!! OK, so hopefully I'm not!!. Seriously, tried the 26 Glacier cruise in Alaska and those bathrooms are for KIDS only they were so small!!! I want to just be comfortable in my own skin and not have to be the "fun" one to be around cause my jokes make my confidence that I don't have. I put on a good show and no one know's how much I hurt inside! That's just the start!!!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
