The first step of hopefully my journey

Hi Everyone,

I have had my consult last Friday- it went ok. I am so worried that I will not be excepted though. I am 5'7" 230. I have been up and down constantly with my weight, my father died from weight related issues. I know that I can make this committment and will do everyhting to keep off my weight once and for all. I would like to hear from anyone who can relate. I have knee issues, fatigue, indegestion, incontinence and sleep issues. please help me with any pointers to get approved for this life changing/saving surgery thanks everyone

Welcome!

You are about the same as I was when i started my journey. I ended up being self-pay because my insurance wouldn't approve me. Best move I could have made. Now I stay around 150, and all of my health problems are gone. I'v e gone from a size 20 to a size 6 and can wear all the latest styles. What fun.

Every insurance is different so do try and get approved, your doc's office should help you get a list of what hoops they want you to jump through. Most want a 6 month supervised diet, a psych eval, ekg, nutrition interview, and referral from your general doctor. If you can't get approved, consider self-pay. Your doc's office may even have some financing info available. Or you could go to Mexico for cheap. Lots of possibilities.

Good luck on your journey,
