I am now 2 days post op. I was in a lot of pain in the shoulder and neck yesterday afternoon. I tried Arnica relief (chewable tablets) from GNC and it helped alot. I am feeling much better this morning. Still some bloated and I am sure that will be better as the week goes on. Thinking and praying for those who are banned this week. I was upset that a friend of mine wasn't experiencing any pain after surgery and I was having a lot. I know every person is different.

Hey all, I'm home! It was a crazy day, but I I'm all banded....i should change my screen name!

My pain is mostly achy and the percocets and heating pad help with that. If I can stay still, I'm perfectly okay....trying to change positions is a killer! But a nice, well-enunciated curse word seems to help some. I'll do my sugery day story in the other thread soon.

I didn't expect it to be this h hard to breathe in.....

I'm feeling ya on this one. Banded on the 18th. Just got home from the hospital today. I find the gas pains to be just as bad as the incision sites. OH, and I figured out really quick my stomach IS only the size of a shot glass. I'm on a full liquid diet and it said I could have blended Soups, so I prepared a cups worth after having 1/2 c of chicken broth. I've violated the law of 30's already. I won't do that again!

Good luck to you all.

Poor thing, sorry to hear you're so bored. I've been catchin up on sleep today. I only got about 3 hours of sleep in the hospital. Hope I can sleep tonight too. I know what you mean tho, my husband took off the next two weeks and he's bad at sitting still. He wanted to go walk to mall today, I said "NO WAY". Maybe you should too if you're feeling up to it. Might be fun to window shop for all those skinny clothes and shoes you'll be able to fit in this time next year!

If you're planning on being banded in January your either half way thru your 6 month wait or you've just recently met with your surgeon and you're beginning your 3 month wait filled with dr appts and nutrition classes.

I have aetna and I only have to wait three months but it'll be filled jam packed w/ dr appts and classes, etc...

I went to see a pulmonologist last week and he wants me to get a breathing test, chest x-ray and sleep study. Saw the GI yesterday and my endoscopy is set for 11/5 and my cardiologist is Friday - can't wait to see what HE has in store for me - haha --- I'm actually excited to get this "work up of the stars" --- how many others are thankful for all these tests (cause when else would we get them done??)

My BMI is under 40 and my last two years worth of weights was around a 35 but I have diabetes and high triglicerides...hoping that this is acceptable for aetna approval cause I'm gaining and not losing no matter what I do - I presently need to lose 80-90 pounds and there is no way I could do it on my own with the diabetes and hypo-thyroidism.

I'm curious to know who is getting banded in January (My surgery date is 1/18/11 if approved). I'd love to hear your stories and concerns - anything at all --- just want to put together a group for those that are planning a new life style come January - I can't think of a better new years resolution!!!! ~Renee

Hi! I'm getting banded this Thursday, 1/20/11 EEE!!! I'm excited but also a bit nervous since I've never been put under before. I've lost 30 lbs on the liver shrinking diet. My doctor is very pleased. He told me that since I have done so good on the pre-op diet, the surgery should be a "piece of cake". I said, "Seriously? I'm on a 700 cal./day diet and you wanna talk about CAKE?!?" :D It was kinda funny. Anyway, this part of the journey has had its ups and downs. But I know in my heart its going to help me become a healthier, stronger, happier woman. Yay! Good luck to everyone at whatever stage in the process you're in! <3

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
