just filled yesterday? or how long, my doc has me complete the day of my fill on Clear Liquids, next day full liquids, next day mushies, then the Proteins and veggies a bit soft the final day.

but that is a good sign, I have been filled and on the above regiment feel starving. so that's great.

Ebeeze, no worries my friend I am right there with you. My 1 yr. anniversary was Sept 29. I have only lost 20lbs in my year. I am blaming myself, I do not exercise nearly enough.

I went in to see my Dr on the 29th and he gave me another fill. I am now at 7cc in my 10cc band. I am so tight now. Hoping I am not to tight. I am going to figure out what I have been doing wrong and fix it. I have always drank my Water and count calories and Protein. But because of my no weightloss issue I cant help but feel as if I am doing something wrong. This is an everyday struggle and I feel as if I have failed everyday when I see the scale.

I am truly happy for all of you who have hit goal or are close to it. I hope to be posting a huge loss on my next anniversary.

If any of you have tips or tricks you would like to share, I definitley am willing to try them.

currently stuck with weight loss, and have been for months, I do know the one time in months that I lost weight was when I was on vacation, when I felt like I ate more, but was also very active at the beach. and weight came off. I keep feeling like if I do the right things the weight will come off, but now you are scaring me. I think I need more exercise. I just want to eat right and lose. and do some exercise, but I think I have to exercise a lot.

You gals that have lost like 100 lbs, how much do you exercise and what do you do? just curious.

Theresa maybe we can help each other and keep each other motivated to get down to our goals. I did read somewhere that I should substitute a Protein shake in everyday for a meal to help with keeping me full. I am also starting off with 30 minutes of treadmill to get my heart rate up.

Ladies, I just think some of it is out of our control. In fact, when I hear about how hard you all work with slow results, I know that it isn't a matter of what I did right that you're doing wrong-- no way! I lost 100 lbs and part of it was just plain old dumb luck. Many of you are way healthier in behavior than I am.

I hate to say this because I don't want to be the cause of anyone's pain and I truly believe that it isn't fair-- but I don't exercise and haven't really done much in the way of sustained physical activity this entire time. I ate low carb for the first 6 months and have been more relaxed since then, so it isn't even some magical calorie or specific food-type eating plan that got me 100 lbs down. Honestly, I think it's that I actually have a relatively small build underneath all of the fat, and that I hadn't dieted or messed with my metabolism at all in 10 years before getting surgery, so my body was willing to cooperate if I just ate less and ate healthy most of the time.

I only say all of this because I want you to know-- you are not a failure and most of you seem to be doing even more than I did but having slower results. It's frustrating and unfair, but as long as you stay honest with yourself and keep pushing, I have to believe that eventually you will see better results.

Theresa, so when you say 6 days out and it's hard to get Soup down, is this broth, or cream soup?

are there any chuncks in it?

are there things like potatoes or white rice in it.

I often have hard time with the above things, so I wouldn't worry too much if that's it

even thick cream Soups

if you are talking broth I'd worry

what about protien shake, is that still hard?

are you spitting up at all, reflux at night anything like that?

can you drink Water fine with no problem

are you getting enough Protein?

if the above is not / or is happening then I would be worried.

the the above is ok then just take it easy, and wait another week even.

if you start spitting up, not able to drink Water, having reflux at night go tot he dr.

and if you want a test also, try clear fluids again for like a day and see if that helps, sometimes the swelling can take time, sometimes it gets irritated and clear fluids can help letting the swelling go down.

but ultimately you should be able to eat solids, so if you can't at some point in the next couple weeks you should consider going in.

that's my thought anyway

With Water, it goes down as long as I dont try and gulp it down, same with broth.

Soup I was talking about was heavy cream (chowder type) It did have pot and chicken in it. I ended up blending it up so I could eat it.

I can chew up my Gummy Vitamins and have no issues lol.

I drink Muscle milk and it goes down with no problem.

Its definitly just hard, never had it this tight before, its like learning all over again. I am going to just take it easy and give it time. Thank you Lisa

sounds ok, I have trouble with cream Soups, and if there is any potatoes wow!!! try something solid, but not starchy, but not too firm, like moist fish, or soft scrambled egg.

if it's hard go back to Clear Liquids for a day, and try again.

if you can do those things

in a day try something a bit firmer, like moist chicken, even just lunch meat is fine.

the rest is just about the side dishes you can get down with out fear.

I always can get salad greens and down, so that and Protein helps me feel full and makes my plate look full

other sides vary depending on my tightness and stress level.

potatoes almost never

whole grain like quinoa, yes

squash even yes

Beans or cauliflower yes

even bread sometimes, if it's toasted really

only corn tortillas, no white ones

white rice almost kills me, brown rice is ok.

just take it slow and you'll figure out what you can and can't do.

oh yeah, sorry to go on and one, but another good trick is the soft stop- I have realized i get an ever so slight nasal drip, just a slight snif, and if I stop then and a minuite or two I will feel completely satiated. if I blow past that and keep eating I will end up too full. I've read the soft stop to be a sigh sometimes too. it's like it takes the brain a minute to register that you are full.

I can only plan to do better and actually try. I hope to get to the green zone soon so i can start to lose the weight like i'm supposed to.

Oh yeah. I figured out that I was so tight after my fill on Tuesday because my stomach was full of gas  it felt like it did when i initially first came out of surgery really tight and uncomfortable. After finally getting all of that extra air out of me my stomach finally started growling this morning around 11. I had some mashed potatoes and it didn't take very many for me to fill up on not to mention it was kinda hard to swallow. So anyway, i go back to the doctor on the 25th if this is gonna help me out then i'm gonna stick with this level of restriction.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
