I have it but am not banded yet. Are you on BCPs? That totally controlled all my symptoms. Did you stop taking them for the surgery? That can screw with the hormones.

no they took me off bcp cause they didnt work for me. ibprophin doesnt work either its too weak. my pcos was so bad i had adhesions all over my fallopion tubes so they took them out and all over my ovary. i cant have kids. i went through invitro and it didnt work. now i am back to bleeding bad and major pain. looks like its back to the doctor maybe a hysterectomy will work. i went and called the phamacy and they told me i can crush it and you were right nasty ewww but if it works i can deal with the taste.

I had an endometrial ablation to take care of the excessive bleeding... BUT I'm older and not planning on having kids.

If you don't want or can't have kids then I recommend seeing your Gyn about a hysterectomy. I had uterine ablation in May and for me it didn't work so a few weeks ago I had a hysterectomy. I feel AWESOME now!

I also have PCOS and the pain is horrible. I am getting banded in 2 weeks so now I am getting a little worried about the PCOS and if it will get worse. I was hoping that the pain was going to go away....with the weight....? But....the band is going in, so I will just deal with the pain.

I tried IVF's and IUI's a few times, and I couldn't get pregnant either, which is the major part for me to get this band. So I can lose enough weight for the PCOS to get better, and then, hopefully I can get preggers.

Have a good day all of you!!!

good luck i hope it works for you. i was heart broken to find out that i just can't get pregnaut. i think cause your body is going through changes you will have more pain and if you are a bleeder like me then it might be bad. my husband is going to iraq again next year so for a hysterectomy surgery i am going to have to have my mom take care of me.

did you have the LAP-BAND® at the time and how did it go for you i want a hysterectomy but afraid cause of the LAP-BAND®

I had my Lap Band placed on August 6th and my hysterectomy was done September 2nd. The only concern was they wanted my band UNFILLED before surgery and my Lap Band surgeon wanted me on Phenergan 24/7 for the first few days to prevent any post surgical vomiting.

I was able to have a vaginal hysterectomy and it was EASY. They had planned to do a Robotic assisted surgery which would have been 5 small incisions just like the band but they decided to do it vaginally instead. I feel better than I have in years. No more cramps and no more bleeding. I love it!!

edited to add:if you have any more questions feel free to PM me. I don't mind!

I do have PCOS and luckily haven't had any problems. I have had 3 failed IVFs and 7 failed IUIs. We will do IVF one more time then adopt. I am sorry that your Dr wouldn't do IVF after 40 and that you lost your tubes.

I also have endometriosis and had a pelvic lap the same time I had my lapband. It worked out great. All the pain done at the same time.

So to you all you other PCOSers Good Luck and I hope you are as lucky as I am and not have any problems since being banded!

My infertility doc is who recommended the band. I failed IUI 5 times and the next step is IVF but they wanted me to lose weight first. We are in the process of adopting now We are waiting for a match. Good Luck to all of you TTC I cant wait to lose weight and try again.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
