Thoughts on Medifast drinks?

Recommended Posts

This is what the nutritionist recommended I use. I just wanted feedback on this brand. How do they taste? Is there a difference in taste from the powdered than ready made?

I appreciate your thoughts!

Hi! I used medifast as a part of my pre-op diet. I really liked the powder packets because then I could "create" my own Protein Shakes. For example, in the mornings I would use the Medifast Swiss Mocha powder, add one scoop of instant coffee and 8 oz of milk and it tastes just like a mocha coffee from starbucks!

I just got the Smiss Mocha and I think its incredible. I use unsweetened almond milk. It's only 40 calories. And it tastes better than 1% or skim. I noticed a few other posts about shakes and I've seen some folks saying that they're using whole milk which surprises me. The unsweetened vanilla almond milk is really good. I've also tried the other Medifast flavors and liked them. I've made them with Water and they still taste good.

I do 2 drinks a day and one meal, usually a salad, but sometimes chicken or fish. On days when I cheat, meaning my one meal isn't a healthy one, I follow up with a couple days at 3 drinks a day. Once I get my surgery date I shuold be ready for my liquid regimen. I'm down 24lbs since the beginning of August.

Lastly on the Medifast, I tried a few of the Snacks and they were horrible.

Good Luck

Almonk milk...who knew? Again, I never thought about that. You ladies have truly helped me!

So, basically I can mix the powders with milk, not just Water? That is good to know. I am really not a big fan of skim, and prefer 1%. But I'll do what I have to do!

I liked the swiss mocha (although I'm told its best to go with reg. chocolate), the banana creme & ORange. I HATED the orange. The other 2 were ok. I made them in the blender with skim milk, benefiber and ice.

When I was out and about i'd fill the shaker they sent with my order with milk and ice and combine when ready. the ice made it combine quite nicely.

Good luck! I have a couple of packets left if you'd like to taste them I could mail them to you. not sure which flavors, or how much time you have untill you need to start them...Or if you'd be comfortable with that

Wow Jinkie, that is so sweet!! Thank you! I would like to try them if you don't mind, could you send them to me? This way I can decided if I like them, since I 'll be living on these a few weeks. My surgery is not until November 11, so I have a few weeks. I'll PM you my e-mail addy so you can e-mail and then I can send you my addy. Please let me know the cost as well!

I see you are a teacher! I am also from NY and teach in NYC schools.

Thanks again!)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
