How long till I can take care of my baby?

Hi everyone. I am getting banded on September 23rd and I have a 5 month son and I need to know how long it will take after surgery to be able to take care of him. My husband is in the airforce so he can only take so many days off work and we live away from our families so we don't have any help here.

So anyway can anyone tell me about how long till I can bend over pick him up, walk up and down steps etc.
