August Rush in bandland!

Recommended Posts

I am now in "bandster hell"! I can eat just about anything if I eat slow enough. I received my first fill on Oct. 4. Will be getting another by the surgeon on Oct. 18. I'm going to talk him into being a bit more agressive if that's possible. I'm only down 10-15 lbs and I mean if fluctuates! I hate it. For Pete's sake, I'm going on a cruise in early March and I've got to get this weight off! I'm getting enough Protein in. However, I need to make myself exercise. I know that is part of the key. Thanks for all of your posts.

How much is in your band right now?

I'm right there with you all. I got my first fill 2 weeks ago and have lost 2 lbs. It's discouraging. I thought I would finally start moving after that first fill but I'm right back to being able to eat more than I should. I'm trying not to eat too much and am sticking to about a cup per meal. But I'm feeling the same way as all of you. Just hoping that it's just the slow start that I have heard about. Just wish it would hurry up already!!! lol

yes, but you have lost 30 pounds! Way to go!

I'm in the same boat with exercise. I do it sporadically. I need to be better but I don't ever have the energy. it's a catch 22....exercise to get energy, but no energy to exercise. !!!

I'm in the same boat Diane. I want to exercise more but I have no energy.

I asked a few pages back if anyone knew or recommended any energy supplements but no response.

I was thinking about taking some 5 hour energy just to get started.

Yeah, I don't have any answer. I was hoping that once I lost more weight I would naturally get more energy and then could start exercising but the weight is coming off so slowly it's depressing.

Yeah, we covered that territory yesterday.

I'm fed up too and that causes me to eat badly and my weight has picked up and I'm depressed. I mean I can't eat much but I have been making bad choices.

I'm starting new on Monday like I was just banded.

Failure is not an option with this band. We'll do better.

I was banded 30th August. Went for my first post op visit this week expecting to get a fill or at least an appointment for a fill. Doc said i was doing so well i didnt need a fill yet and to come back in 6 weeks!!!. I told him my weight had been the same for several weeks now so he finally agreed to see me in 2 weeks and if my weight is the same he will give me a fill but if i loose i will have to wait. I think i am starting to eat more slowly and i am not always making the best choices.

Dietician said there is no liquid in my 10ml band and that the surgeon usually puts in 5mls at the first fill - seems a lot!

I got my first fill today. I got 4.5ccs which is great because I was hoping for at least 3, but on the other hand I don't feel any restriction. I have a follow-up appointment in 4 weeks. If I am not feeling restriction by then I hope he will do another fill.

I didn't get my first fill until I was 8 weeks out from surgery and I got 5.5 cc's. It was tight at first but has loosened up already and I am able to eat more that I could.

Im not discouraged at the moment ...I think of it this way, ive lost over 28 lbs in 2 months since my pre-op diet. It took me 6-8 months on jenny craig to lose thisa same weight!!! not only the time but i spent over thousands of dollars at Jenny craig.

Keep up the hard work guys !!! it will pay off!

I love 5 Hour Energy! I have some in my cabinet right now. A friend of mine swears by Advocare's Spark energy drink but I've never tried it.

Hey everyone, well I was sitting here at work and was thinking of you all. Boy have I missed a lot in the many weeks I have not been here. Well I enjoyed reading the posts, and glad to see many of you doing sooooo well. I on the other hand, have been doing okay minus not losing weight in a week and a half, and also feling the need to vent So here goes what happened to me last Friday.: Well last Friday I was very excited because I was going for my first fill at the fill center in St. Petersburg Fl. On my way there my car broke down, and was late for the appointment. I get there rhings are going great port looked good but when the doctor went in to give me the fill she said the port was flipped and tried to turn it. Well no luck. She says I needed to go back to the doctor which is Mexico, so I calledthe doctor right away and was on a flite the next morning all the way from Fl. So I get there the doctor gives me the x'ray and goes umm your port is not flipped. I said what? He goes ya, you can se the two rings if it was flipped you would only see one. I said well I am sorry but I need some proof lol. So he gets the needle and with a little push in went the needle and my 1.5 cc's. Comes to find out she didn' push hard enough through the lining of the port. So what does that mean for me? Well means I wasted money but glad when I go back for my next fill I can inform her. . . I am happy I did go to Mexico though cause I was reassured I was okay.

Now my aggrivation comes from just being hungry a lot. I am about to have my monthly feiend but I don't know. I definitely eat more than a cup, but less than what I was eating. But I am going to wate a few more weeks to see how I feel before I go for another fill just because I need to get in a routing and better choices. So with all that said, I hope I didn't bore yall too much. Thanks for reading, my prayers are with you all.

Tiffany

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
