Hey everyone!! I am so excited to find this forum and website! I went to my first Dr. Appt 2 weeks ago and was approved 2 days later! I meet with my surgeon tomorrow to set the big day!!

Hi Amy, and welcome. I was banded on July 27th, so tomorrow is 1 week. I am doing pretty good now, had some bothersome gas pains but they have almost gone away now.

I am happy for you that you are getting this done at such a young age, I sure wish I could have! Be sure to read a lot of the posts to get a good idea what you are getting yourself into :-)

The band is a tool and you have to be prepared to work at it, which means changing your eating habits and exercising. I also go to another newer lap band website, Lap Band Support, Lap Band Forums and Information and they are really helpful over there. The gals that run it have successfully lost weight with the band and kept it off for several years. Maybe I'll see you there.

Hi Amy - I'm new to this Forum as well. Going for my consultation on Saturday - really, really nervous but have been thinking about it for over three years and now feel that the time has finally come to go for it. I'll look forward to hearing how you get on. Good luck.
