Im back home with a LEAK!!

Well I guess now I know why I have not been able to lose much weight.. I always thought it was strange that after a fill 2 days later I felt the same as if I never had a fill at all. I just thought that there were air bubbles or something in the tubing causing this. Anyway Friday after a hard painfull fill he just about put 6 or more ccs in.. and nothing the Water went down fine. It didnt hit me much until my Dr. hung his head down and sighed.. I got tears in my eyes when he said you have a leak. My Dr. thinks it happened on one of the fills when he was trying to locate my port and probably stuck the tubing near the port with the needle. He puts the blame on himself. He also told me that more then likely insurence will not cover a revised port but he will really really work with me since this was his fault. So that was nice of him... He also said that I sould have lost more weight then I have. So I guess those nights I sat and cried and cried thinking I was a failure.. was really worthless because it wasnt really my fault.

Im looking at a revision sometime in Dec. after this Semester is over and before the next one starts.

Next problem.. You know how I have been talking about sharp pain near my stomach area? The pain was so bad I would have to sit and rub my tummy over and over.. it felt like somthing was ripping... Well He is thinking.. we are not sure yet, but he thinks it could be a Herrnia (sp?) Well that would explaine the pain.. but How would I even get one.. thats got me thinking. I guess While he is in there doing my Port Revision I will have him take a look at that area with the pain and he will know what is it from there.

I just want to be fixed.. Im not scared or even regret my band. I still love my band and I have lost 50pounds because of it. So im still in high sprits. I know this is all going to work out. Thank you all for listening to me!!!

Hey Trish, at least you know what the problem is, and that is always better. Since you know what is wrong, you can get it fixed. Hopefully you will going on your weight loss kicked in once get this fixed.

I so relate Trish.

Last year I thought I was going nuts, I'd get a fill then a few days later, no restriction at all.

My leak was in a kink fold of the tubing close to the port. I actully flew down to Monterrey MX becuace Dr. Sanchez insisted. He removed the section of tubing with the hole and placed a sleeve over of the tubing. During that fix he didn't charge me for his services but there was nurse and attended fees and it was preformed at a clinic as out patient. I paid about $250. They did pull out the port to get to the hole.

Replaceing the port is much easier then the tubing. My fix didn't work and Dr. Sanchez replaced the band but that's another story entirely. Don't worry, you'll be good as new and you are not a failure. We all know the band has got to work as a proper tool.

I like Rene's way of thinking. If it can be charged as a Hernia repair it's worth looking into.
