I think mine is 1.5 per week...but I want to put your mind at ease...some weeks I lost nothing, maybe even two weeks in a row. Then, 3-4 pounds would "whoosh" away in a few day period. So, an average is just that, an average. With me, it is not usually steady, but lose, gain a little, then lose a lot, gain a little, hold steady, lose, etc. I track my weight loss on fitday.com, and it is interesting to check out the little graph for different periods, like a week, 2 weeks, a month, 2 months, and so on.

Hope that helps a little...don't sweat it. Cindy

I've been losing an average of 1.5 - 2.0 lbs/week. Some weeks more, some weeks less, some weeks NONE (think this is gonna be one of those weeks) lol, but you get used to it. Everyone will lose at a different rate. You're doing just fine :)

2 a week is fantastic. Thats 104 lbs a year folks, I'd take that in a heart beat.

I really can't comment on the losing end b/c I just am under 4 weeks out. I'll let you know in January / February.

Flower,

I've been loosing about 3 pounds a week on average but some weeks are better than others. When I hit a plateau, I go back to the liquid diet for a dayand that seems to jump start me again.

Flower, you know you've seen it said before, but I'll say it again. Average means average over time. You can't expect to see the same amount drop off, week after week, week after week. It just doesn't work like that.

Normal people lose weights in fits and starts. So wait three months, then look back and divide your total weight lost in that time by 12 weeks. THAT'S how you calculate what your average weight loss was for that time. Stick with it, and you'll do great!

I don't know what my average has been since June but I will loss anywhere from a 1/2 pound to 6 pounds each week. So weeks I stay the same. This week is a good week this morning I am 4 pounds down since last monday...so I just take what I can get and try to watch what I eat.

Mine is about 1.6 lbs. I might try the liquid diet to jump start my weigh loss. I am very pleased with my loss. Some weeks it is nothing. If I don't lose another pound I am very pleased with my band.

my AVERGAGE is 1.2 lbs per week BUT that is not how my loss has happened.

I lost the most weight in the beginning and the rest has been an up and down struggle, plateaus, small gains and then losses.

I am up 4.5 lbs from my lowest and not happy!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
