Because of my sucess my sister in law is next

My sister in law has her surgery tomorrow with my doctor, she has been so impressed by my weight loss that she started asking me about my doctor and what the band was like and that led her to make an appointment and 4 months later she is set for surgery. It makes me feel good, plus now I have a buddy in the family that will understand and she gets the benefit that I am 7 months out and have gone through a lot of what she is just about to start.

It's great that your success has inspired someone else.

So refreshing to hear about a supportive in law for a change!

That's awesome! Congrats to you on your success and inspiring others. I got the lapband after my Mom got it and had great success with it. And, I'm so thankful for her for showing me the way. If she had never got it done, I don't think it would ever have occurred to me to do it. I would've probably thought it was hopeless and wouldn't work (like everything else). And, it really is so great to have someone else in the family who has first-hand knowledge and you can be a support system to each other. My mom has taught me a lot, but now I am also teaching her because I discover things she didn't even know about because she's not on the computer as much as me.

That is awesome! A buddy in the family!

I see some of my family members watching me with a jaded eye. But my little sister is talking to me about having the surgery.

I too might get a buddy in the family!

Good for you! And her, too! I am hoping to get my niece inspired. She has always hated to talk about her weight problems...and my sister put the kibosh on us ever discussing it with her since she was in her early teens. So now she is in her early 20's and has a head-in-the-sand attitude, but we all know what she must be feeling. I hope that being open and positive about the lapband will get her to thinking about doing it. This is one of the reasons i don't believe in keeping it to oneself...it needs to be out there to help others.
