Hi Everyone,

I started my preop liquid diet today. I can only have broth, sugar free Jello and popsicles. Of course, also Protein Shakes.< /p>

My surgery is scheduled for Thursday, July 8th. Only 3 Days Left!!! Getting very nervous. I go tomorrow to get my blood taken and my preop class. Not sure what the preop class is for.

Good luck to everyone getting surgery.

I got my surgery date booked for July 2nd and so far everything looks good (crossing fingers...). What about you guys, anybody else getting banded this coming July?

Right now I'm busy soaking up information and I came across some great blogs of people I could relate to. Thanks to them and to the nice people on this forum, while I'm still a little apprehensive I now have a much better understanding of the journey that awaits me. Not to mention some great tricks and recipes! I have some unused vacation time that I'll be taking after the surgery, it should make for an interesting summer!

Keep in touch!

Peace : )

Hi there. My date with the band is July 7th. Im on a liquid diet until the 6th, then Clear Liquids. It hasnt been too bad. The heat isnt helping, though. I feel a little overwhelmed with getting things done like house cleaning and laundry, just to be ready. Psychologically Im very ready. You're exactly right about an "interesting summer"!

Found out this past Friday I was FINALLY approved for surgery..woo hoo. I can't believe one week from today (7/12) I will start my "new life". I am currently size 20 so I went and did a little shopping and bought a pair of size 16 skinny jeans as my first small goal. I hope to stay in touch with all you July banders to gain advice and support.

I'm in Cruces, but I'm having surgery in El Paso. I went thru Las Palmas and Dr. Acosta will be doing my surgery. He is the nicest guy...really. I actually don't have to do a preop diet, but I'm am doing a 1000 calorie diet on my own.

I'm going to miss the Breakfast burritos with green chile. I used to live in Alb, and the green chile there was the best.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
