I hope she's doing well! If you don't mind me asking, where was she bitten? I only ask because I was mauled by a German Shepard when I was four, and they basically had to sew my scalp back on (I need 86 stitches in a huge oval from right above my right eyebrow to the base of my skull). You can barely see the scar anymore. Some people have known me for years and only ask about it if I have my hair up in a ponytail.

She was bitten in the face near her mouth, one of the areas is right in the crease of the cheek and them one above that, we called in a plastic surgeon and he did very good job, it is healing well

I haven't lost any more this week  I am such a slow loser. I just had another fill today, so I am hoping it will boost me along!

I am now six weeks post op and the initial weight loss has stopped. I am now packing back on the pounds. My weigh-in this week was plus 1 lb and now I am plus 3.

I am finding the time between lunch and dinner to be the most difficult. So when I get to dinner I eat more than I need to because I am so hungry.

With the suggestions of others I am going to try and increase the Water intake and more "free" foods such as low and no cal veggies. Also will start working to eliminate all the iced tea and artifical sugars that I have been so reliant on now that I do not have much soda.

I am still eating less than what I did pre-band but it is not enough to help me lose weight apparently. I also know this is not a time for major loss but for healing and getting used to the band. I was just trying so at least some slow loss or maintaining. I was not expecting to gain anything.

There is still time to meet my challenge and I have my first fill on 14 June.

I know how frustrating it is to not lose. I'm 4.5 months postop with 4 fills/6ccs in my band. This last fill is the only one where I felt any type progress/restriction at all. I know I'm not at ideal restriction yet, but this is progress, at least! In the last 9 days, I've lost 5 pounds!

For all you newly banded (well, newer than me, anyway!) folks, please know that you are going to have to be patient. They don't call "bandster hell" for nothin'! I lost my first 10 pounds in one week prior to surgery, during my pre-op diet. The next 10 pounds took a month, and these most recent 10 pounds took *3.5 months*, and 5 of them were in the last nine days! (Fill #4 was May 20th.)

172 (which had been bopping around on my scale for a MONTH!) down to 167 this morning! WAHOOOOOOOO! That puts me at 30 pounds lost and 38% of the way to my goal. I am so happy, there's nothing that could kill this high today! Keep the faith, and just grit those teeth! :Dancing_biggrin:

Can't actually post my stats this week as I am away from my own scale, visiting my family near Boston. There are three scales here...each tells me a different weight and a different amount lost. Go figure. PLUS I have been hanging out with my sister who has dragged me...kicking and screaming, I assure you all... into several of her favorite candy shops. The undeserving wench is still a size 8. There is no justice. My NSV here is that even with the siren calls of dark chocolate non pareils and Jordan almonds I seem to have kept close to my calorie target. We will not discuss Dunkin' Donuts in this forum due to sensitivity for those who are weak of heart (like me).

Ok I am up 2 lbs this week but I am alright with that. It is that time of the month and I had half my Fluid removed a week ago today because I was to tight. I will be working hard this week to try and loss this two pound gain this week. Plus I go back to the office for another fill this week....maybe. I am still having trouble getting a little stuck on some foods that I was not having problems with my first fill.

Down 1.6. Not too bad. It's way better than gaining 1.6, that's for sure! :)

You go girl! :)

Maybe I should have, too! It might have helped me with my Water weight gain. I had lots of Soup this weekend because I had a fill Friday and my surgeon told me to do liquids all weekend. I would have stuck to Protein shakes but the ones I have are really high in Protein and I didn't want to overdo it.

Down 7lbs again this week. Was only 1lb away from my goal, so I bumped it up from 15lbs to 20lbs. :)

1.2 pounds for me until I reach my Fourth of July goal. I was stuck at a certain weight forever and then, for whatever reason, the weight loss picked up dramatically. The kids are now out of school so no gym for me for three weeks :) but even though I feel another plateau in the works, the 1.2 pounds over four weeks I think I can muster. 16.2 lbs 'til onederland!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
