I live in Las Vegas, NV and am curious if Mexico is the cheapest place to have surgery. I know I need to do my research on the surgeon, but I want to know where to start. My mom had lap band in France about 10 years ago for around $4,000 or $5,000. Are there still offers like that or is there anywhere else you recommend?

Personally I would stay in the states. If something goes wrong down the road ........

There are some really bad stories here on LBT about going to Mexico. There are good ones too, but you really have no recourse if you go out of the country.

Cheapest may not always be best.
