Hi!

I'm getting banded June 4, one week from today:thumbup:

The 2 week liquid diet sucks... but worth it. I go through days of being hungry and then not hungry. But i seem to be having trouble dropping the pre surgery weight despite Water and exercise?

Is anyone else having problems?

I only had to do the pre-opt diet for 7 days before surgery, I am on my 3rd day because I started a day early.

I have only lost 5 lbs so far since my journey started at the end of march. I probably shpuld have started then with healthier eating and exercise but I did not. I have come full swing on board the last 2 weeks though.

I hope all goes well for you.

I start my true low fat low carb Protein diet on June 1. I have tried for the past two weeks to be good, but the last two days I have cheated...I think it's because I know June 1rst is coming up soon... I get banded on the 14th and I'm getting nervous.

Dallen!

thanks for your input... i was on the diet 3 days and lost 5 pounds then the next day i gained 2! I'm freaking out thinking that how can i gain weight on 800 calories a day and worse yet is how can i lose weight with the band if i'm gaining on the liquid diet!!

I wrote the nutritionist at my doctor office and was almost in tears and explained the situation. She just told me to stay off the scale because there are sooo many things that can affect your weight from day to day... i / WE must all get off the DISTRUCTIVE DIET mentality... that's what probably got us here to begin with... i just have to look at more than the scale and Celebrate small victories, even if i expect more and settle in for the long haul... it's about the end result, not the day to day .... problem is i want potato chips!!! UGH:angry:

I'm scheduled for surgery June 7 and I am really excited. I have read a lot of posts on this site. I can relate to a lot of the pre-op diet feelings. This is day 5 of my 2 week pre-op diet schedule and today was actually a good day. I went through the faint feelings and headaches on day 2 and it has progressively been better thus far. My diet consisted of 2 high Protein, low carb shakes and one frozen entree' that had certain parameters. Next week I will drink four Protein Shakes daily and no solid foods. I can have all the sugar free popsicles, Jello and crystal light along with 64 oz of Water that I want. I just started having popsicles and jello yesterday. I just keep my mind on the ultimate goal. My support system has been great as well. I'm looking forward to reading the postop experiences as well. Good luck to everyone. We should stay in touch and plan some big party in a great place this time next year. I'm ecstatic

Jello wasn't own my list....I have to talk with the nurse tomorrow about that.

I just feel like I should be chewing but I guess chewing is what got me in this mess to begin with huh....LOL:rolleyes:

I'm getting banded on June 14 too! I'm meeting with the dietician on Tuesday and I'm interested to see what he says. No one has said anything about a preop diet, but I've read in some posts that some have had to do a 2 week Protein Shake diet.

Anyone else not no anything about this preop diet?

On day 6 of pre-op diet. I've been doing good and have actually lost 10 pounds since I started. I'm sure most of it is Water weight, but I will take weight loss however it comes. Surgery is next Friday and I am starting to get nervous. Mostly ready to get this journey started and to get some days off of work.:cursing: Some of you guys are getting so close. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts this weekend because I am sure you guys are more nervous than I am. Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
