My husband is 6'3 and a 32 waist and has NEVER thought once in his life about weight (eats what ever he wants  So I realizing it would help me alot - even though he supports me - to have a friend who knows what I am going through!! THANK YOU for thinking of me during this lifechanging time!!!

Hi Melissa,

I would love to be a band buddy with you. I was banded a day after you on April 1st. I have a friend who had Gastric done and we talk often, but it is not the same thing. She is also losing much faster than I am and expieriencing different problems than me (her hair is falling out and I keep getting food "stuck"). I have been on this site for awhile, but havent really been able to get the most out of it.

I am 39 years old and recently divorced with a 3 year old son. I live in Southern California and have a pretty flexible work schedule but still manage to avoid regular excercise. I was over 225 pds when I got banded and have lost 40 pounds, but have 35 pounds more to lose. I really believe in teamwork and having someone to talk with that you can relate to is very helpful. I would like to help you get to your goals while working on my own. I will put my personal email address here so that you can reach me directly.

Thank you,

Bridgit

Melissa and Bridgit,

I would love to be partners with you guys. I was banded on April 6th. I am 39, almost 40 and am looking for some support. I know how you feel with the skinny husband. 6 foot 1 and 34 inch waist. He thinks he is fat.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Alicia

Hi Alicia, Thanks for the response! I just went on-line and typed a response to you, twice the site went down after I typed everything. Boo. Ironically, what I was typing was asking if we could do some things to avoid having to use the site.

What do you think about having a weekly call with the three of us? I have a 800 number that we could all call in on. We could talk about our issues, set weekly goals and share our successes. Good or bad idea?

Please send me an email directly and perhaps the three of us can "respond to all" via our personal email addresses in the future.

Have a great day!

Bridgit

I also live in So Cal (Huntington Beach) I was banded 7-16-2010. I have slowed down so much I think I may need another fill, but not sure. Please get in touch with me too. hbrhonda@yahoo.com

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
