anyone else getting banded on 3/31?

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody. I also was banded 3/31, and sent home 4/1. I still feel sore, and it's a little hard to take deep breaths. But I have been walking, and every day I feel a little better and stronger... silly question, of the 5 incisions, which is the port? how can you tell? well, good luck to all of you. Thanks

i know exactly how you feel, the port one is the one above your belly button and your port should be a few inches above that

hope your felling better

i am still very tired, still cant sleep on my side, cant wait for a good nights sleep.< /p>

the other thing is i am finding it hard to get in so much Water ? just about manage 1 1/2 litres .... also icky subject...... Constipation i had to take some light relief...

keep well everyone , i hope we all do well and that we can all support each other through our journey i was about 260lbs and want to lose about 100, going to count down in 10lbs .......

the quicker the better xxx

Thank you everybody for information about the location of the port. I am back to work after a week off, but when I go home I'll look for it... As far as the Protein Shake, I got mine from costco. It's called Protein by muscle milk. I blend it with Water and ice, and sometimes add a piece of fruit, it takes pretty good. What's really surprising right now is my lack of hunger... I really like that. The smallest amount of food (mushie stage) fills me up. Hope everybody else is doing well!

Hey Everyone! Not to sound too happy or ok.. but my surgery couldnt have gone any better! NO Problems, or complications. I definetly had the burpy feeling for about 3 days after the surgery but I feel almost 100%. I am ready to start excersizing again! I wish my incisions would just heal up already so I could get back to it! : )

As for diets, I also cannot believe how many different ones there are from different doctors. It blows me away!

For me I was on a clear liquid diet for the first week (apple juice, Jello, broth, water) then now the secind week its all liquids... then week three mushies, but I have already added in some mashed potatoes. I drink powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein mix, and I think its awesome! Im ordered it off line before I had my surgery and it tastes just like chocolate milk!

The day I started my Pre-Op diet (2 weeks prior to surgery) I was 300lbs. As of yesterday I am at 270! Down 30lbs! YAY

Hope everyone else is doing well and cant wait to see how this all turns out! Only time will tell! Good Luck too all! : )

Variety indeed!

Mine was all liquid (not just clear) for 1 week post-op. Then mushies for the next 3 weeks. I'm coming up on my 3rd week of mushies.

Micaela1988 congratulations on 30+ down!!!

I went up 4 lbs when I started eating mushies. Was about to freak out when a voice in my head reminded me that the doctor told me (as well as many bandsters before me) that I would go up a little when I started eating again! It is now coming off at about a pound every 3 days. I'm officially down 21.6.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
