NO weight loss! Under eating?

Recommended Posts

Ok so I was super loose for 3 months due to some medical stuff. I got a good size fill on Thursday morning (4th). I have been on liquids ever since with one mushy meal a day. It is now tuesday (9th) and I have not dropped ONE pound. Usually after a fill I drop 4-5 lbs. Am I under eating? I'm prob eating arounf 700-800 cals a day. Only carbs Im eating are from daily and fruit. Im so nervous about calories. How many calories should I be eating a day? I'm going to start slowing getting back into food and I'm nervous. I work out 5 days a week pretty hardcore with a trainer. I have my last 50 lbs to go and that was my last fill, which i think did the trick. I need to jump start this thing. I would appreciate some advice on calorie intake please!!!

First of all - HI! I'm from Bakersfield, too! Why aren't we friends?!? LOL!

Could be that you're undereating...how many calories are you getting? I'd suggest upping your calories 200 to see if that helps give you fuel. It's weird to think that we have to eat MORE to lose weight, but if you're working out as hard core as you say you are, your body probably isn't getting enough fuel to burn and is holding on to what it's got. I know that I have to play around with my calories when I start seeing a stall...in the beginning, I was proud of myself for eating less than 1,000 calories a day, but soon found the scale at a plateau. Once I jumped to 1,300-1,400 calories per day, voila!

I'm only 6 weeks post op but i'm averaging 1300 calories a day and losing over 4 pounds per week.

I track my food on thedailyplate.com On there you can put in your height, weight and activity level and then choose how much you want to lose per week. I put 3.5 and it says I can consume 1436 calories per day. 1400 is alittle hard for me to reach but 1300 has been pretty do-able.

Hope that helps!!

with the workout that you are getting, it is entirely possible that you are losing fat but gaining muscle...which could account for the scale not moving.

This is probably the case.

Chele- I have an APP on my iphone called Lose It that does the same thing. I never use it, but started this morning. I think I am under eating big time. I am going to up my cals to 1000 a day and see if that makes a difference. If not, Ill go a bit higher.

Thanks for advice guys! Keep it coming!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
