Hello All

New to the boards. Had my surgery on March the 1st. Doing pretty good except for the extreme pain I am having on the roof of my mouth. Has anyone else had this problem? Getting a little worried about it. Thanks.:smile2:

it is from the tube that they put in your mouth during surgery. My pain lasted about 2-3 days. I have read the pain is normal.

ok thank you. i understand that it does last a couple of days after surgery. I got mine done on monday. Is that normal? my mother says the roof of my mouth may be bruised. I am going to the store to get some sf popsicles. thank you for your help. i have really been enjoying reading everyone's questions in here through some things that i thought was only happening to me. :smile2:

If it does not get better let your doc know.....don't ignore it......could be something like an abscess that is totally unrelated to surgery.

I also had my surgery on March 1st. My throut was sore for 3-4 days and the roof of my mouth was itchy, kinda like you get when you have allergies. As of now it is feeling better.

i think what i am experiencing is a sinus infection. noticed i was feeling sort of like a popping in my ear when i swallowed. i dont know if that has anything to do with the surgery or the tube being down my throat. could be a coincidence. i have a drs appt in the morning to get looked at but i have been taking some tylenol sinus and feels much better. but if i have a sinus infection i need to get some antibiotics in me. but i think the throat pain from the tube has been gone. good luck with your progress.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
