Sounds normal. They probably had you hooked up to an IV for a couple of hours. Take your pain meds and each day will get better. Did you walk any today. You should try to walk about 20 minutes. I walked late at night in my PJs with a pillow pressed againest my tummy, in my driveway ,it really helps with the gas. I am 7 months out and no problems. I am giving you my phone number you can call me night (even late night) or day. 409-986-9061 My name is Cheri. How some of that helps

Hi Cheri. Thanks so much for the reply. The iv fluids were the culprit and plus my surgeon said the kidneys shut down during the operation and the pain medications make them slow down overall the first few days. It improved the next day. The incisions where the port is located are very painful. I'm hanging in there. Starting to miss having some consistency in my liquid diet but know I can work up to some thicker consistency starting in 4 days.
