Words that have helped us along the way.

Lets share poems that have moved, touched and inspired us on our journey. Please feel free to comment on whatever comes up. Here's one that speaks to me:

"Speech to the Young, Speech to the Progress-Toward."

Say to them,

say to the down-keepers,

the sun-slappers,

the self-soilers,

the harmony-hushers,

"Even if you are not ready for day

it cannot always be night."

You will be right.

For that is the hard home-run.

Live not for battles won.

Live not for the-end-of-the-song.

Live in the along.

I like that very much. Thanks!

I am often touched or inspired by song lyrics. I listen to many genres and think the ipod is fantastic. On Monday I was on my hour long drive to work on a winding snow packed mountain road. If you have read my blog or many of my posts, you know I have a hairloss issue. The song from Randy Travis was playing and it made me smile. At least Randy will love me if all my hair falls out!

Forever And Ever Amen/ Randy Travis:

You may think that I'm talking foolish

You've heard that I'm wild & I'm free

You may wonder how I can promise you now

This love that I feel for you always will be

You're not just time that I'm killing

I'm no longer one of those guys

As sure as I live this love that I give

Is gonna be yours until the day that I die -- Oh baby

chorus...

I'm gonna love you forever, forever & ever amen

As long as old men sit & talk about the weather

As long as old women sit & talk about old men

If you wonder how long I'll be faithfull

I'll be happy to tell you again

I'm gonna love you forever & ever, forever & ever Amen

They say that time takes it's toll on a body

Makes a young girl's brown hair turn grey

But honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair

And if it all fell out well I'd love you anyway

They say time can play tricks on a memory

Make people forget things they knew

well it's easy to see it's happening to me

I've already forgotten every woman but you --- Oh darlin'

I'm gonna love you forever, forever & ever amen

As long as old men sit & talk about the weather

As long as old women sit & talk about old men

If you wonder how long I'll be faithfull

Just listen to how this song ends,

I'm gonna love you forever & ever, forever & ever amen

I'm gonna love you forever & ever, forever & ever

Forever & ever, Forever & ever Amen
