Where are you losing first?

I am trying to keep things in perspective but remain a bit frustrated. I am losing weight in my legs and hips rapidly, but my upper body -- not so much. I carry the bulk of my weight in my upper body so, of course, it's going to be harder to get it off there. Add to that my spinal stenosis which prohibits strenuous exercise of the upper body (unless I want to be bedridden for a week) AND diabetes (which I thought was a think of the past, but maybe not). I have been walking for exercise hoping to strengthen the muscles in my body so that maybe I can to more upper body exercises. I move my arms while walking but unfortunately have paid for this -- opening a cabinet is very painful these days. I will continue to exercise though ... eventually my top will catch up with my bottom -- I hope. LOL

How about you, where are you losing the most weight?

Up until the last week or so, it was all in my boobs, hips and legs. I'm *finally* losing the stomach. I don't know how much of that is due to my insulin resistance. I know when you're insulin resistant, you tend to hold a lot of belly fat and it's only in the last month that my sugar levels have come down to the point where I'm becoming less insulin resistant.

OMG Elfie! I had no idea about that with the insulin resistance! Now it makes sense! I have definitely lost in the face/neck, waist and legs, but my stomach just will not go away! It has started shrinking a tiny bit, but I've been doing crunches on the ab lounge and stuff like that. I was thinking that it was having 2 kids (I'm sure that doesn't help LOL)

You learn something new every day. Hoping that I'm not going to need a Tummy Tuck and will be able to get away with my belly when I get down to goal weight (God willing LOL).

In my butt, across my back, and some in the upper abdomen. I'll probably have to have a Tummy Tuck someday.

At least I have begun to lose weight again. I went up 5 lbs and held it for over three weeks. Now the scale is going down again and I'm a happy camper for a change. I get really upset when I don't lose. I still don't have enough restriction (only some in the a.m.) but I will get there soon. I'm not giving up.

I'm losing in my Waist, Butt and legs oh and of course, the Boobs were the first to go.... I've also lost some in my face... The third chin is gone....

My ARMS are my worst enemy! They always gain first and lose last.... I HATE HATE HATE my arms...... However, the one consulation is that my Grandsons Love these arms and if they are lying down to watch TV or take a nap with me, they say, "Gwamaw, Let me lay on you comfy arms"... They make perfect pillows for 2 and 3 year olds..... If I can only ever afford one surgery after I lose weight, it will be to have my arms fixed and loose skin removed..... I have never had normal sized arms and would love to know what it's like.... Thats my Biggest wish/dream.... I'll even be happy to stay boobless if only I could have normal arms.....

Oh I can sooooooo relate to this! I absolutely hate my arms...always have!!!! I seem to lose in my face/neck area first then waist.....I have very muscular legs and hips that wont quit and I don't forsee my curves going anywhere. I have always said that I have a super cute shape...under the chub! LOL It will start to reappear about 30 pounds from now and be smoking hot in 50 pounds.....I can't even imagine what I will look like at goal....I haven't been there since I was 17! I'm so excited to find out though! But YES YES YES JensGems I would deal with NO boobs if it meant normal arms! LOL:biggrin:

I lost my chin, my chest and shoulders first. It's taking forever to come off my hips and thighs!

I lost in my face and my upper body. I am very pear shaped and I definitly still have my hips & booty even though they are shrinking.

I've lost more from my upper body, arms, neck, face, breast then I have from my lower body it seems but I've lost over 70 inches all over thus far.

Awwww...that is so cute! And much nicer than a 17 year old son who tells me that if I could staple my arms to my sides, I could do the whole flying squirrel thing. :rolleyes2:

I read somewhere that stress also causes your body to deposit your fat in your belly...something about cortisol, I think.

I know I'm going to need a tummy tuck...I'm just not sure I'm going to do it. I'm 53 and it's not like I ever plan on wearing a bikini (or even a bathing suit) in public so I'm thinking one of those body shapers. I've heard good things about them.

Like Julie (JUKU), I'm very pear-shaped and have always needed a size or two bigger for my bottoms than tops. I'm losing it first from my upper body (especially my boobs). I don't feel like I'm losing from my belly because my skin hasn't shrunk, but I'm buying smaller pants and my underwear are getting baggy. I'm still waiting for some results in the thighs, though. (FRUSTRATING!)

i've been losing in my lower body as well, and i've also had a hard time with my upper body.....what i've seen that helps is lifting small weights and i see my upperbody a bit more toned. so i need to keep up with the exercise.:rolleyes2:

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
