Surgery was just yesterday but having PB nightmares already!

I'm only two days in and the more I read, the more I'm afraid of what eating will bring down the road. We eat out a lot and spend a lot of time eating and being merry with people who don't know about my new band. The whole sliming thing sounds a) incredibly unpleasant and :( totally embarrassing. How do you learn to live with this? It sounds beyond horrific!

Well first of all, you probably won't have to deal with this for awhile--as typically most people don't reach restriction until their 3rd fill (or in my case my 5th fill!!)--although some people feel restriction right away....You will just have to really focus on life style changes...focusing on chewing food really well, and when you are with a group of people who don't know about the band, then you will have to eat "Safe" foods, such as soups, or chili, etc. You will learn what these are for you as you go along...Good luck :(
