Who has lost 100 pounds?

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled to get my band this Friday and I have 150 pounds to lose. I'm very excited, but also a tad weary. That's a big number! I'm curious to know how many of you may have lost 100 or more pounds, and if you have any secrets for the long term motivation? Honestly, I'm really hoping to get 100 pounds off in one year, but I know a 2 lb./week loss isn't always realistic.

Also, I didn't realize until reading the helpful posts here that the band is "empty" until your first fill. What's the verdict on losing between surgery and the first fill?? I was under the impression that I would feel restriction and start losing right after surgery.

Thanks for the insights! This site has been very helpful to a girl who is in the final stages of pre-op......excited enough to dance on my desk and hungry enough to eat it.

B....As you already know I'm a proud member of the 100 pound club and I have way more to go. I still have about 150 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal but I know for sure that I will do it....you can too!

150 lbs is my total goal as well. I'm only down 50 (ha! "only" she says) but I just wanted to reassure you that 150 lbs is quite do-able with the band.

I really appreciate everyone taking time to post! I spent some time on other sites that downplayed the success of the band and it had me feeling discouraged. After further reading and being inspired on this site I now know that losing ANY amount is just as possible with the band as any other WLS. I'm glad that those of you who have had big losses still take the time to visit and post here. It is so encouraging to those of us just starting out. I think it proves that long term motivation is the key to ANY weight loss strategy. If you are still interested and involved enough one or two (or more!) years out to visit here and post, then of course you're doing GREAT!

Looking forward to jumping on the BANDwagon this Friday during surgery!

I am almost at 100 lost. As of this morning I am down 97. My secret is I listen to my band and stop when I sigh (my sign of fullness) I havent exercised yet but I do chase my 4 and 2 yr olds all day long.

I am happy with my results so far as I only had my surgery 6 1/2 months ago.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
