Who has lost 100 pounds?

I am scheduled to get my band this Friday and I have 150 pounds to lose. I'm very excited, but also a tad weary. That's a big number! I'm curious to know how many of you may have lost 100 or more pounds, and if you have any secrets for the long term motivation? Honestly, I'm really hoping to get 100 pounds off in one year, but I know a 2 lb./week loss isn't always realistic.

Also, I didn't realize until reading the helpful posts here that the band is "empty" until your first fill. What's the verdict on losing between surgery and the first fill?? I was under the impression that I would feel restriction and start losing right after surgery.

Thanks for the insights! This site has been very helpful to a girl who is in the final stages of pre-op......excited enough to dance on my desk and hungry enough to eat it.

Both of us lost weight before surgery and have lost even more after surgery

B....As you already know I'm a proud member of the 100 pound club and I have way more to go. I still have about 150 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal but I know for sure that I will do it....you can too!

150 lbs is my total goal as well. I'm only down 50 (ha! "only" she says) but I just wanted to reassure you that 150 lbs is quite do-able with the band.

I got the band july 30 2005 i am 5'6" and i toped the scales at 297 and now im about 234 but i havnt wieghed myself in a week. i am now 37lbs away from my 100 lb goal. It still seems so far away but i hopw i can make it there by febuary......

Good luck on your wieght loss!!!!

Kim

I have lost 153 pounds since my surgery:) I would like to lose another 25-30, and I know if I use the band the correct way, then I will achieve it. Good Luck

I am down two 50 lb dog food bags and a 25 lb bag! I was buying dog food last night and it really hit me how much weight that really was!!!!

My secrete (3 -5 milk servings a day!)

I have about 140 lbs to lose :) Sounds like you big losers (no disrespect intended!) found the "sweet spot" I hear talk of! Congrats to everyone on your losses.

It took 1.5 years for me to lose a little over 100 pounds.

Last fill 9/2004 and still have restriction..........................

I really appreciate everyone taking time to post! I spent some time on other sites that downplayed the success of the band and it had me feeling discouraged. After further reading and being inspired on this site I now know that losing ANY amount is just as possible with the band as any other WLS. I'm glad that those of you who have had big losses still take the time to visit and post here. It is so encouraging to those of us just starting out. I think it proves that long term motivation is the key to ANY weight loss strategy. If you are still interested and involved enough one or two (or more!) years out to visit here and post, then of course you're doing GREAT!

Looking forward to jumping on the BANDwagon this Friday during surgery!

I am almost at 100 lost. As of this morning I am down 97. My secret is I listen to my band and stop when I sigh (my sign of fullness) I havent exercised yet but I do chase my 4 and 2 yr olds all day long.

I am happy with my results so far as I only had my surgery 6 1/2 months ago.

Congrats to you all on your accomplishments!!!! I had surgery on 2/10/05 and as of this morning I am down 98 lbs, only 2 more to go until I hit the big 100......yippee!!!!!
